Biography
Pita
Pita is a travelling historian. He roams the countryside, visiting ruins and abandoned lairs, documenting what he finds there. Of course, he also makes sure to preserve any important artifacts. The museums of his home clan, after all, will be a better home for pieces of history than leaving them out in the elements. That he gets paid for his finds is only a side benefit, really.
Visiting a more recently ravaged lair in the barren north, he takes a moment to lament the torn up farmland. It must have been difficult to grow so much, here. Wandering closer to the heart of the lair, he visits each den, documenting the way these dragons had lived and died. The toppled pottery and still-visible blood stains tell a gruesome tale, but whatever conflict had occurred here, the winners have since moved on.
In the back of on of the larger dens, he finds a feathered headpiece in surprisingly good shape. It's a good find, but somehow, he doesn't feel right bringing it to the museum when the reek of blood still lingers in these caverns. It's less a piece of history and more an important heirloom belonging to the present, right now. And so, he sets out to find any survivors of the clan.
It takes him some time to track Senca down, near the spires of the Observatory. Excited both to return the headpiece and to hear a first-hand account of the clan, he's shocked to be accused of looting. After all, he's defending history from looters, by entrusting it to safe locations. Senca will not be swayed, and in the end, the only way to calm her is to agree to help her with the fields.
Pita thinks at first that it will be a valuable learning experience. Less than a week in, he realizes that he is not nearly as fit as he thought he was, or as Senca is. But the work is satisfying in a way he hasn't known before, and by the time they harvest the last winter greens and Senca allows him to leave, he finds he doesn't want to.
