Hatchling Lore:

Found as a hatchling by a group of Spiral dancers, young Imperial Celes has always been fascinated by aerial dance. The dancers' graceful twirling and soaring through the sky fascinated him, and he always tried to emulate them. His childhood clumsiness, paired with the difference between his Imperial body and the abilities of the the Spirals who designed the dance moves, meant that he was never as graceful as the others. Despite this, he remained determined, trying his best to twirl through the air. If you asked cute little baby Celes what he wanted to be when he grew up, his answer would be "A SPIWAL DANSAH!" with the cutest shining eyes you could find anywhere on Sornieth. Isn't he adorable?


Adolescent Lore:

By the time he was an adolescent, Celes knew that he was a spiral at heart. The grace and flexibility of the dancers he was with spoke to him, and the clumsiness of his large Imperial body was something that seemed more of a prison than anything else. Surrounded by the beautiful Spiral dancers, he would forget his body and move to emulate them, only to be painfully reminded of the difference as he ran into something with the wings he forgot the size of or pulled something with the flexiblity he always forgot the limits of. Searching for a way to break free of the body he was born with, he begged his family to let him travel to the Starfall Isles. They loved him, and knew that he would only suffer more if they stopped him, so they gave him money, food, and a promise to meet them at the Cloudsong when his search was over, and let him go. He embarked on a journey to find someone who could help him, and spent days searching for someone who could help him. After weeks of looking, he finally met someone who was willing and able to help, and the ritual was complete. When he awoke, transformed, he found that despite trying to emulate Spirals all his life, he was still used to being an Imperial, and that the feeling of being a true Spiral was both foreign and home. He rushed to the Cloudsong as soon as his limbs would cooperate, and found his family. They were overjoyed to see him so happy, and taught him how to use his new body. Despite the struggles of using a different body and relearning how to move, he wouldn't have given up the opportunity for the world.

Young Adult Lore:

Celes has gotten used to his new body, and mastered dancing with his family. They perform three days a week in the Cloudsong, and nobody who sees their performance could guess that Celes was ever an Imperial. He and his family have made a nice place for themselves, doing public shows for the masses and private shows for events. Lately, a Pearlcatcher around his age has been attending his shows more frequently, and they've been talking after the shows. She loves to soar through the sky, and has has invited him out several times. He admires her passion for the things she loves, and sees her determination reflected in himself. No matter how much his family teases him for it, he really is in love with Bailey.

Adult Lore:

Celes has become the star of the show, and grown ever closer to Bailey. The two had courted for a while, getting to know each other and falling more and more in love as they did, until they officially became mates. Celes started performing fewer shows and spending more time with Bailey, as they spent time with each others' families and going on adventures together as a couple.

Now, they have made the decision to raise a family together. Celes was worried that the magic used to transform him into a Spiral might have unforeseen consequences on his children, but he and Bailey have a healthy set of three eggs. Celes knows that they will need to leave the nest after they grow up, but he is still looking forward to teaching them and watching them grow.

Celes' nest has hatched, and the babies are healthy and strong! Despite the fact that he was transformed into a Spiral and not hatched as one, two of his three hatchlings are Spirals, and all three of them are everything he could have dreamed of! He can't wait to see them grow and find their passions, and hopes to teach them everything they need to know before they go out into the world.
