Blossom was named both for her pinkish colouration, and her habit of falling from trees.
Her wings are slightly misshapen, making gaining altitude, and by extension actual flight, incredibly difficult. Instead, she finds high places, such as trees, spreads her wings, and jumps from them. While her wings are no good for flapping and flight, she can glide if she positions them just right.
Most of the time, they are positioned wrong. Luckily, her mother Jacaranda is there to provide a soft landing, catching her daughter on her back.
While Blossom loves being flown around on her mother's back, she hopes to someday fly by herself, and is saving up for a pair of metal wings to reinforce her own.
