Jacaranda was purchased by the clan's treasurer, Banana, on the orders of the King and Queen. She was intended as a mate for their son, Prince Dusty, and they spent many hours searching the Auction House for a pretty girl his age (shortening the search my only accepting Tundra females).
After they finally found her, and checked the theoretical offspring were up to clan standards, they were shocked to find that Dusty was not interested. He assured Jacaranda that he had no problems with her appearance or personality, but that his travels would make him a poor Mate and father.
They now enjoy a non-romantic friendship, and the King and Queen are still annoyed by their 35Kt loss. It is rumoured that a more meaningful relationship may be blossoming between the two, however.
She is named after the Jacaranda tree, which has purple flowers and brown bark.
As of 24/10/2014, Dusty and Jacaranda are a mated pair! Their daughters are Meteorite and Blossom
