Biography
The favored son of Beso, Gajan was ecstatic to learn everything about being a proper ninja that his father would teach him. On his birthday, his proud mother, Kir, watched them move their giant bulk silently up the World Pillar. When his father could climb no higher than the seventh height of the Pillar, Gajan laughed gleefully and scrambled up to the eighth and final level. As he stood atop the monument, his glowing tail lost in the bright light of the unforgiving sun, he flexed his wings and leapt from the top.
Three distant figures caught his eye, but he dismissed them when they did nothing more than hover and watch. Lignum watched with his usual stoic silence, but Laya and Iska discussed his skills boldly among themselves.
"He's very skillful!" the bright Iska marveled as the youth easily scaled the dangerous heights.
Brooding Laya agreed, "He really is impressive. Even if he isn't a Skydancer!"
Flying away, he gave a last look down at his proud parents and knew they wished for him to find a successful path in life. So, with a million and one plans running through his head, he searched for the adventure he craved. A week after he left his parents, he landed in the Wind flight His choice was random, as the terrain looked like it would hold amusement for his brilliant brain there. Once he landed, he spotted a bustling clan that was pulling down tents and packing up to move. They were obvious entertainers and Gajan thought to join them and see if he could learn more from them. He approached a soft-colored Skydancer and was startled to recognize her as one of the distant watchers from the week before. Boldly, he gave a flamboyant bow before her and asked, "Oh beauteous dragon before me, would your clan be able to find work for a lowly acrobat such as myself?"
Iska stared at the youth, then with a bright laugh she led him to the lead roustabout and told him to listen and learn how to pack the festive tents.
Gajan quickly became a favorite performer among the dragons and when the Wild Beats entertained dragonfolk he flew through the air easily, performing dangerous acrobatics that left the audience gasping in delight and dread. Some nights, Laya would approach him and give him an assignment. Those were his favorite nights, as he silently crept into buildings and caves to 'retrieve' trinkets for the Skydancer.
