history born in a clan bordering the cinderwastes. was separated from her family when the shade ravaged her clan - she and aelan managed to escape, but they'd never met any other survivors after the fact. both of them sought shelter in the churnscar wharf, often doing odd jobs in exchange for lodgings and food. eventually, forbaernan and aelan found work with a blacksmith in the city. this blacksmith grew as fond of them as she was of her own daughter, and took them in as her own after some time. while aelan apprenticed as a blacksmith themself, forbaernan took the security as an opportunity to learn about magic - if they lost everything, she couldn't just do nothing, not again-- moved to hron-rade with aelan some months after the blacksmith passed away. they could've stayed, their sister had offered - but they'd thought it better to start a new chapter in their lives. (anything, for that empty house not to haunt them.) has lived in hron-rade for a good few years, and has been a shadeslayer for about half of that.

relationships ✧ Coracina Corax - good friend... but how ? ✧ Aelan Isern - best friend since childhood. met as fledglings, but didn't actually become friends until early adolescence, when they'd gotten lost outside of the clan grounds together. drawn even closer together through circumstances, forbaernan and aelan are kind of inseparable and kind of codependent with each other. the blacksmith - something of a mother. the blacksmith's daughter - something of a sister.

- uses spells in combat, but also uses throwing knives that aelan makes for her
- she loves to sing and write songs, but doesn't share them readily with anyone except for aelan
- 'the cinderwastes' is. the cinderslag. it's gone now lol they tore down the capitalist shantytown and now nobody lives there because living conditions there are somehow even worse than the rest of fire flight now due to toxic waste or something
