The morning air was quiet, only broken up by the soft babbling of the forest stream and the song of birds just starting to wake for the day- the comforting darkness of night giving way to the soft pastels and light of the morning sun.
Bright eyes watched from above as the world came to life from above the earth, unseen by all but those who'd think to look up into the tall trees Rivin had claimed as a look out point for their watch. A pleased hum coming from Rivin as the first of the suns rays broke through the canopy to warm her current perch. They would love to be able to stay like that for a while, enjoying the warmth of the sun and sounds of the waking forest, but they had work to do.
Taking a moment to stretch their wings- starting a few small birds that had settled on the branched with them- they found themselves silently moving down to wake the other scouts. With the rising of the sun they knew their teacher would be back soon- and with her return they would be heading back to the clan to report their findings.
