Information Name // Sentry Tyrande Patrina Velkanov(a) of the Silver Wing -- Pronounced // tie-rawn-duh First name is inspired by the World of Warcraft character, but she is totally unaffiliated with the game's universe. Middle name (Patrina) is her mother and grandmother's names. Last name is the surname of the Dusk Elf royal line. Occupation // Paladin, sage Role // Archivist, protector Likes // Being orderly, dragons, Dislikes // Centipede :( Personality She worships Selune (chaotic good moon goddess), loves to interact with any elven or half-elven kin, and has spent a majority of her life studying dragons and philosophy. She has a distaste for Lathander (due to past religious persecution) and drow deities, and a fear of centipedes for... reasons. As a paladin of the crown, Tyrande loves a well-structured society. As an elf and member of an order of elf paladins, she serves for both her race and her order (and her girlfriend, and her friends, and her weird political ideologies, and dragonkind, and so on) under this oath. She serves them all with relatively equal preference, meaning if there was significant conflict between two or more of the fifty things she serves, she'd probably collapse into a singularity having to pick :(.

Sentry Tyrande Patrina Velkanov(a) of the Silver Wing (Tyrande pronounced "tie-rawn-duh") is my character for the second playthrough of Curse of Strahd. Outside of mists, Tyrande worked as an archivist within an order of paladins lead by a family of Silver Dragons. The leading family had realized that they were an offshoot of the order of the Silver Dragon in Barovia, and wanted to look into their origins, and Tyrande was more than willing to take that trek. Though Barovia was a treacherous place, Tyrande had felt a connection to it her entire life (only disallowed to enter by her mother, may she rest in peace), and at the age of 550, Tyrande is entering a new stage in her elfy life cycle (menopause lol), itching to find her elvish community within the mists. Being sent out on a mission to explore her order's origins was only a bonus.


Tyrande has a number of nicknames. She is an Obelisk on FR purely because of her nickname in-game, "an obelisk of a woman," in reference to how tall she is (6'4").

She most prefers shorter names (not super long titles), so things like "'Rande" or just "T". While Tyrande is deeply appreciative of her ancestry, struggles to see value in her name because of... family issues.

She goes down a lot. Four times so far! Here is what has downed her (almost always with terribly unlucky crits)

• Almost died to a bunch of centipedes in the tutorial area. They critted her through her 21 AC did 19 damage to her 20 hp maximum.
• A bunch of wolves who consistently rolled 20s on her at the time, 19 AC, and then 22s when she cast shield of faith. Almost failed her death saves too until a force tried to revive her. She fought revival, but got revived anyways.
• Her own DAD, RAHADIN. He's trying to bring her to Strahd because he thinks he can get him to forgive her, make her a general or bride or something, even without like forcibly sterilizing her or something. It hasn't ended well for either of them, and this will eventually lead to the death of one or both of them. It has knocked Tyrande down once so far though.
• The Abbot, one of the minibosses, he's a kind of glass cannon boss though, and he critted her TWICE, knocking her down through that battle. She was kinda useless without ranged options anyways though.

Ireena is Tyrande's love and joy. Despite Ireena being a human, Tyrande met Ireena late enough in her life to feel secure in a lifelong connection to the woman, but still refuses to legally marry her. After defeating Strahd and Vampyr, the pair re-established the Order of the Silver Dragon/Silver Wing and became adventurers.

Tyrande hates Marlow. More than being Ireena's ex and a vampiric creature, Tyrande has felt the presence of Marlow and disagrees with her on every moral matter; they are the antithesis to one another and Tyrande considers Marlow something on the same level of Strahd.
