Ricochet made a face and stepped back in disgust when Kveldi tried to go past him.
"You look gross. Can't imagine why you're still allowed to enter the lair."
"Well, I think he looks quite delicious!" disagreed Heder - wait, when has he appeared? - picked a spider from Kveldi's tail and bit its head off with a wet crunch. "At least you can be sure - nom-nom - that we always have some fresh insects for a yummy salad or something. Where do you even manage to pick such large ones?"
He poked the largest one on Kveldi's thigh with fascination. The spider quickly ran up and hid under the half-translucent rags covering the clan's best insect catcher.
"I don't know, they just... come?" Kveldi shrugged helplessly, disturbing a couple of spiders in the process. Heder caught the other one before it managed to hit the ground and run away.
"It's very - munch-munch - convenient, then! So glad - gulp! - we have you here! Thanks for the dinner!"
And he fluttered away. Kveldi sighed and proceeded to the food stores of the clan to unload his catch.
"Why couldn't it be birds, or squirrels, or cute little bunnies? I don't even eat spiders," murmured he mournfully trying not to crush the ones running up and down his legs.
