Biography

[wip]
You move around the rows of beehives, making sure that there is plenty of distance between you and the bees. You're pretty sure you won't get stung if you leave them alone, but who knows, right? Everything about this clan is weird.

After a few minutes of careful shuffling, you spot the nearby garden plot. There's a row of pulled weeds accompanying the rows of plants. You spot a spiral working in the garden yanking out the weeds. It only takes him one good pull to get them out, roots and all. You recall the time your mother made you weed the garden when you were a kid, and your hands ache in sympathy.

As you walk up to him, you call out "hello?". The spiral looks up from his work and then over his shoulder.

"Oh, hi," he says. He doesn't look surprised to see you. News really does travel around the island fast, huh? "Visitor, I presume?"

You nod in response.

"It's good to meet you. I'm Carnelian. I do a few things around here. Beekeeping, growing food, helping Dahlia out with the archives... speaking of which, if you have the time, could you tell her I'm done updating faction info? Both the physical copy and the digital copy. You're free to have a look too."

"Is it alright if I ask you some questions?"

"Mm. Sure. I'll be moving around here and there, so you'll have to follow me though," he says. He squats and tears another weed from the plant bed. Carnelian brushes the soil off with his hand before tossing it into the pile and reaching for another weed.

you wrote:
» Ask him about the other residents.
"Is it me, or are there quite a few beekeepers on this island?"

"Yup. Well, it's really just me, Victoria, and Elza, but if you do the math, that's still technically 25% of the population here. A bit more if you count Andesine, but she just lends a hand here and there when she's got spare time." Carnelian pauses and wipes some sweat off his forehead with his forearm.

"Having the bees is a big benefit, though. We get honey and beeswax, and they pollinate our crops."

you wrote:
"How do the people here get along?"

"Pretty well. We're lucky that the folks here are generally kind and sensible. Not sure if I would really call any of them friends except for Dahlia, who I knew before coming here. Mm, what else..." the spiral falls into a contemplative silence.

"Oh, right. You'll probably hear quite a few people complain about Juniper, though. I don't blame the others for feeling the way they feel about them, but I personally don't dislike them that much. Mostly because those two are scared of bees, and I spend a lot of time around my hives."

you wrote:
» Ask him to share more about himself.
"I'm curious to know how you got here."

"Was going to move to this clan. Stumbled across this island instead. At the time, it was only Victoria and Elza who were living here. Warned me about the true nature of the clan. I couldn't really go anywhere else, so I decided to stay." The spiral pulls out the last weed in the current row of plants. He gets up to move to the next row, and you follow.

you wrote:
"What did you do before coming here?"

"More or less what I do now. Keeping bees. Growing fruits and veggies. Didn't take part in tracking the actions of a vengeful god, though."

you wrote:
"How do you feel about living here?"

"To be honest, the life I live here is pretty similar to the one I was expecting to have if I moved into the clan. It's not all that bad."

you wrote:
» Ask him about the future.
"Do you think Adrienne will ever be defeated?"

The spiral sighs and adjusts his gloves.

"That's hard to say. I try to have realistic expectations, and at this point in time, I can't confidently tell you whether or not Adrienne will succeed. Of course I want her to be defeated, but there's not much use in just hoping."

you wrote:
"If Adrienne is defeated, what would you do afterwards?"

"That's something to worry about far into a future that might not ever happen. I'll think about it if the time comes."

you wrote:
» Thank him.
"Thank you for your time. I'll go tell Dahlia what you said."

Carnelian nods.

"No problem. And thanks."

PTpAznO.png ADRIENNE / THE FALLEN ONE
Although the majority of the clan's members are not truly affiliated with Adrienne, The League of Valor is teeming with her accomplices. All of them serve The Fallen One in achieving her goal: overthrowing The Lightweaver and reclaiming her place as the "one true god of light."
note wrote:
Technically speaking, almost all of The League of Valor could be considered Adrienne's affiliates. However, there is a clear difference between those who knowingly work for Adrienne, and those who technically work for her but are unaware of her true nature. This page defines Adrienne's affiliates as those who have some sort of specific agreement with her, whether it be employment or some other deal, and are at least partially aware of the truth, whether it be in its entirety or an altered piece of it.

- Carnelian

» LEADER - ADRIENNE
33188145.png The true mastermind behind the entirety of The League of Valor, Adrienne controls just about every aspect of the clan, making adjustments here and there to meet her standards. She works exclusively behind the scenes, using her many employees to spread her control and influence. Adrienne keeps her affiliates loyal (or at least as loyal as she can make them) through a combination of lies, manipulation, rewards, and threats. Employees are carefully selected according to their personalities, skills, and how easy they are to manipulate into being loyal.

━━━━◇━━━━

» DEPARTMENT HEADS
Most of Adrienne's employees work under one of the clan's departments, depending on their specific job. Each department has its own head, a specialist in their respective fields. While Adrienne is the sort to want to be in absolute control, having people lead these departments makes managing things easier.

» HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS - ADNACHIEL
63153518.png As the head of the department of external affairs, Adnachiel's job is to oversee all of the scouts that are scattered both within and outside of the clan. They assign missions, search for potential employees, and monitor the activity of groups of interest. In addition, the wildclaw also oversees the clan's diplomats. While Adnachiel is technically a scout themself, they rarely leave the clan due to their workload.

» HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE - DOREMI
69153031.png March oversees the clan's economy, imports, exports, and the department's cargo exporters. Thanks to the work of the clan's scouts and March’s own strategies, Adrienne receives the funds needed to improve the clan and finance her research projects. The League of Valor exports goods via its cargo exporters, who pose as traveling merchants to minimize the chance of the clan being discovered. They travel to places designated by March with a wide variety of goods, including clothes, weapons, armor, food, alchemical and magic ingredients, and information.

» HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH - AUGUST
80922841.png Information about this department is highly classified even among Adrienne's high ranking employees. Its members handle various research projects in secret underground facilities located throughout the clan. While the projects vary, they usually have something to do with maintaining the clan's secret status and increasing its military might. As the head of this department, August is committed to fulfilling Adrienne's every demand and wish, doing whatever it takes to bring her closer to her goals.

» GENERAL - SKADI
53737699.png While not technically a department, Skadi has responsibilities very similar to a department head-- that is, micromanaging Adrienne's employees. In the imperial's case, she is the general of the clan's army, which is primarily responsible for defending the clan and its residents. Most members of the clan's army are combatants of some form, but there are subsections that are not necessarily dedicated to fighting.

» ADRIENNE'S CHILDREN
In total, Adrienne has four adopted daughters. Each of them are fiercely loyal to her (or at least it seems) and carry out each and every one of her orders without fail. In some senses, they are her right hand, being some of her most effective, reliable, and predictable accomplices.

One of them, however, seems to have been silent for some time.

The Lightweaver has taken notice of Adrienne's recent actions, and to say that she's disturbed by her return would be an understatement. But there's a lot on The Lightweaver's plate, and making knowledge about Adrienne public could cause more problems. Instead, The Lightweaver aims to take down The Fallen One quietly before she becomes strong enough to initiate a full on war.

Due to the way Tamidu and Shallan's powers work, we only have information on The Lightweaver's associates who have a direct connection to The League of Valor.

» DOMINIONS
A group of "living weapons," trained specifically for the purpose of defeating Adrienne before her plan comes to fruition. Although they have all been trained under The Lightweaver's watch, many of them were sent to her by the other elemental deities, as they have a vested interest in Adrienne's downfall as well. All of them have received a blessing.

» SPIES
Despite Adrienne's best efforts, The Lightweaver has managed to get a handful of spies into her clan. They spend some years gathering information, and then use dominion attacks as an opportunity to escape while Adrienne is distracted.

B7wdJLS.png THE REBELLION
A secret organization within The League of Valor plotting to prevent Adrienne from reaching her goal. While their numbers pale in comparison to the amount of accomplices The Fallen One has, they do have access to more advanced technology thanks to their their team of engineers and their allies in the Shifting Expanse.

» LEADER - ALNAIR
56425138.png Despite being the leader of the rebellion, Alnair has contributed very little to the organization's efforts. The skydancer spends more time shirking his responsibilities than actually attending to them, making him more like a figurehead than a true leader. The biggest reason why he's still occupying his position is because his best replacement, Accalia, refuses to acknowledge his shortcomings.

━━━━◇━━━━

» STRATEGIST - ACCALIA
56618301.png As the rebellion's strategist and second in command, Accalia is central towards achieving their goals. In addition, she is also Alnair's proxy, representing him in certain cases and taking over when she needs to. Though, considering Alnair's habit of dumping all his work on her and then disappearing, Accalia might as well be the leader of the rebellion.

━━━━◇━━━━

» ENGINEERS AND RESEARCHERS
Many of the rebellion's tactics and plans rely on technology. As such, the organization's engineers and researchers are central to their goal, as they are the ones who create the things that are pivotal to the rebellion's general strategies.

» SCOUTS
Similar to Adrienne, the rebellion has a group of scouts. Instead of spending most of their time outside the clan, though, they spend most of their time within the clan tracking Adrienne's actions. This job is particularly dangerous because more often than not, the scouts are on their own. If one of Adrienne's employees catch them, then it's up to them to save themselves.
