the frostbitten of hieme perpetua owe the warm blood running through their scales to khione, goddess of winter and the snowmother. she is snow personified, from the freezing rain to the gentle fall. her children learn of endurance, as one of her main rites is the thawing, where she hibernates for a few centuries to let the most recent of her children rule the empire. it has not failed her yet, but she has severe distrust in her youngest son alsius.

she is also the most severe of the sisters--despite not being the eldest, she maintains a hold on her kingdom which the others don't dare to even approach.
