when carpho was first created, millenia ago, her scales were pristine and shining, a tiny hatchling in the palms of tyr. yet barely three centuries later, she was assassinated by a powerful mage who had stumbled across the isles by accident. tyr, in their righteous anger, struck down this mage and left the place where he had stood an incinerated crater and a warning for any future beings who might get ideas.

they returned to her corpse, and their magic pulled her from the death she had been sentenced to just hours prior. there was a change in her outward appearance though, and tyr could tell she was not truly alive--merely undead. lady carpho also gained a new distinction from her death: the lady of the undead, mother of vampires. it's no surprise there are so many vampires in autumnus aeterna purely because of her. throw a stone, hit a vampire, as the saying goes.
