     Gizelle: Huntress Amongst the Hunted |

Gizelle looked around the Voltruse clan trying to wrap her head around what happened since she was brought here by the clan matriarch. She was originally part of the group that would be cared for until old enough to search for the Tidelord. At least that was her plan until the seer looked at her. Then things changed in a hurry.
“Ata.” A blind, midnight Skydancer dressed in red spoke. “Yeah Sera?” The tiny matriarch said. “I wish to claim an apprentice.” She stated firmly causing a shock silence to come from within the room. Normally Grace was the one to claim apprentices so for Sera to do so..something unique must have piqued her attention. “Whom?” Ata asked. “The witch.” Sera said, pointing to Gizelle causing the young Imperial to internally panic. “Alright. She is yours.” “Thank you.” Sera replied before turning, her raven dress fluttering up a bit as she did so. “Follow.” She said. Her voice was gentle, yet the command was obvious. Gizelle rushed to keep up with the grown Skydancer’s strides as she was led out of the hatchling holding den and to the Skydancer’s personal area. “I do apologize for startling you young witch. That was not my intention.” Sera gently rumbled. “Then what was, if I may be so bold to ask?” Gizelle inquired. “Simply to save you from being like those that came before you.” “Oh?” “The legend of the witch's heart has spread quite far and my sight can see quite wide, young one.” Sera said as she made tea for them both. “It has?” Gizelle asked quietly. Worry gripped at her heart for herself and her siblings scattered across the many elemental planes. “Indeed. Though you have landed yourself in a particularly optimal situation.” Sera said with a chuckle. “Oh? How so?” “You are among the cursed and unsavory within the water flight. A place where you can learn to fight and live like tomorrow is your last.” Sera said with a grin. “And while it may be stressful it is quite a fulfilling way to live.” She tacked on. “It is?” Gizelle asked, curiosity and caution coloring her tone. “Indeed. You can have a family if you want. You can learn to brew potions. You can do anything you want. Only requirement I would have for you is to learn to be the huntress amongst the hunted. Alojin as we pronounce in our clan.” Sera replied. “And that is so I can protect myself and the clan?” Gizelle clarified. “Correct.” Sera replied. “I will personally see to your training.” Gizelle nodded as she thought. “May I write a letter to my parents?” “Of course. We have several who still do so.” “Alright...and where can I go about getting a weapon?” Gizelle asked. “My husband Ferron runs our local forge.” “Alright. I’m gonna go write my letter.” Gizelle said before walking off after getting a goodbye from Sera. 
That is how Gizelle found herself in the position she was in. Staring around the common room to the Voltruse clan, a Fae to her right that Sera had also claimed in an earlier group. A piece of paper addressed to her parents laying in front of her. “Well this is going to be interesting.” She mumbled to herself and started writing. |
