All his life, Eirian had always been fascinated with the night sky. It'd already been evident when he'd been trying to catch the glimmering "stars" draped across his Flair-patterned wings. As much as it was an endearing sight seeing the hatchling on his futile pursuit of chasing his own developing wings, he'd do it so much that the edges of the webbing on them had become quite torn, affecting his flight capabilities.
He didn't mind, although it saddened him a little that it'd now be less easy to reach the stars...
...So he decided to collect fireflies in the day, then sneak out to release them out into the open fields in the night. Watching in admiration as the little critters danced about and lighting up the darkened sky as they celebrated their freedom once more.
And after learning about his father's role in the clan, Eirian's world changed even more. Learning everything he could with ever shining ambition as bright as the stars, the now grown Guardian eventually set off to the Starfall Isles, ever keen to learn and understand about the twinkling lights that gave him an indescribable feeling of wanderlust and inspiration more than ever.
However, when he'd finally reached the region of Arcane he'd been dreaming of going for a long time, it wasn't what he'd hope it to be.
Sure, he did manage to get the closest view of the stars he'd ever had so far at the Hoverview Vale. Eiri here would've made it his permanent home if it weren't for just a teensy little problem:
The noise.
Whilst he understood that the Arcanist's domain was a place where knowledge was a valuable and prized resource amongst the scholarly dragons that resided there, the constant conversations of knowledge and intel everywhere he went wore down on him. At first he'd try to tolerate it for the sake of the spectacular view of the vast, endless sky... Yet he couldn't even get to truly enjoy them in silence, for every single time the starry-winged Guardian thought he'd be able to get some peace and quiet after a tough yet productive day of research, he'd get ambushed by some loud, ever-eager scholar wishing to share their findings with him over their supposed common interest of stars.
As a result, he fled to the neighboring ice mass of the Southern Icefield as a desperate last resort to retain his sanity, which he still resides in to this day, happily stargazing and scribbling down all he could find, on his eternal pursuit to "catch the stars".
(And yes, if yer wondering... his charge's the small glass jar he once used to catch-and-release fireflies back when he was a wee hatchling) - De.
