Crius is half of Magisa's second attempt to create life from solid stone. While her first attempt resulted in a pair of dragons who prefer to stay still when possible, Crius comes to life ready to engage with the world around him. He is grateful to Magisa for granting him the opportunity, and it is only because of this gratitude that he is willing to stay by her side as a guard rather than going out to explore the world. Her mate, Malakai, is unappreciative of him, and makes it well known. But Crius has a more watchful eye, and Magisa knows it. Along with his counterpart, Eurybia, he does his duty to the absolute best of his ability- for a while.

The longer he stays near the portal, the stronger its pull on him becomes. What starts as idle curiosity gradually escalates to an unbearable temptation. He simply has to go nearer to it. Just once, he tells himself, in his approach.

Once is all it takes.

Simply touching the surface of the portal is enough to break through his rocky exterior, letting loose the otherworldly creature chained to flesh with Magisa's magic. Opening his eyes for the first time, Crius knows immediately what his mission must be: vengeance.
