Eucleia is brought into the remains of the Polareis clan by Legacy, and comes with a lot of his own insecurities. Unwilling to show them, he throws himself fully into the training regimen that is set out for him. Between lessons from Kline and from Requiem, he has little time to rest. He's eager to prove himself, especially to Legacy, but Legacy's affection varies. Senna sees him as a rival, and while it's clear that Eucleia has superior fighting ability, that doesn't seem to give him the upper hand in Legacy's attention. In his unwavering loyalty, it doesn't occur to him that his ambitions are being taken advantage of.

He's arranged to be mated with an older coatl, Reik. Reik sees him more as a nephew than a lover, and this too, drives Eucleia to ever-more intensive training to prove himself.
