Kline has been in the clan for some years, following from the Southern Icefield up to the Starfall Isles. While he originally mated with Legacy as an arranged thing, he's grown loyal over the years, even though Legacy has not. He has a casual attitude which does not often show the ferocity of his devotion. As Legacy learns to fight for himself, Kline isn't sure whether to feel relieved or concerned. He is often sent out on scouting missions, and does his best to complete them quickly and thoroughly so he can return.

When Eucleia is added to the fold, Kline is tasked with teaching him as much as possible. Between that and Legacy's increasingly close relationship with Senna, Kline can't help but worry that he is becoming obsolete.

In the end, his fears are well founded. Legacy ignores him more openly, and realizing that his years of loyalty have been spurned, Kline becomes resentful. But even knowing that his ex-mate no longer needs him, his loyalty towards the Lightweaver lingers on. When a missionary of the Lightweaver arrives to Polareis' gates, Kline greets him eagerly.
