Personification of the Slavic/Pagan Summer | He rules over the Season | Honest, but Kind | A born Leader Lato: [ /ˈla.tɔ/ ] From Proto-Slavic " lěto "(“summer”). pl. Summer Lato is a warm individual, although at times he may sound harsh to the unknowing. He has a fatherly personality, as some may call it, and a warrior's heart and mind. Lato is the "leader" amongst his siblings, always volunteering to help them out if they need it. Lato is heavily associated to Slavic paganism, Fire and Rebirth. He has a very boisterous way of celebrating his seasons and his ruling star is the Sun. Although fiery in mannerisms when angered, his warm personality is a welcome change from his sister's- Marzanna's (Zima)- cold indifference and awkward way of socializing. He'll bring joy, victory and inspiration into the lives of those who follow his lead. Offerings to Lato are composed of burning a small part of the individual's harvest, sweet smelling flower crowns, building pyres and jumping through the flames. His animal are cattle, deer, morning songbirds, and snakes.
