Biography

Name: Mordan
Proud/Self sufficient/Friendly

Quote: Allow me to assure you monsters are very real.

Position: Magic user

Personality: Mordan is playful and hardly one to take anything too seriously usually, he is friendly and more than willing to joke and talk with those around him, he is protective and will defend those close to him with everything he has, becoming more than a little frightening when properly enraged.
he is proud, he knows his own worth and his bloodline although he does not advertise it to everyone, he takes pride in what he has accomplished by his own strength and cleverness, he does not trust easily and relies more on himself than those around him.

Quirks: Impulsive, scars

Background: Mordan knew his mother although he stayed with his father, traveling to Queen Guinevere's court regularly as a hatchling and wanted only the approval of his parents and to spend time with his siblings, however as he grew and learned he found most of his siblings only wanted to use him to gain standing in the court or kill him for the same reason. he found no interest in taking the thrown for himself and didn't want to fight for something with so little meaning to him, but pretended he longed for such power thinking he would be left alone for his lack of ambition.
He was looked down on by his half siblings and often ignored since he had no real interest in taking the thrown- he was a none threat. Mordan amused himself by reading and learning, gaining power through magic, he would greet his Mother- first and foremost, and his aunts and uncles, as well as the higher ranking of the court as a show of respect when he arrived before wandering off. he knew to have the favor of at least some in the court he had to have power to be seen as useful and used to bring those who deemed him worthy of use to better their standing.

Mordan became disillusioned and bitter gaining power only to be used and tossed aside by those he offered help to with no request for payment of any kind- only recognition, acceptance. he began ignoring most of his family, giving attention only to his mother when he would visit and keeping himself hidden within the library unless called on by the Queen. even as a hatchling he realized to most he was no good alive when he was not willingly helping them and giving all he could to those within the castle and giving them power.
Soon enough he had a clan to stay in, but felt no better for it as the dragoness his father followed now was simply a murderous creature with little sanity left yo her. he felt no fear around her, but felt the hands of those poor trapped souls which she had trapped, it was a growing army which suited his father fine yet left him with his scales crawling.

Leaving the clan he found a place to stay, but found himself no more accepted there than he was in the court of thorns, but they left him alone and that was all he asked. Mordan repaired and maintained the den that was his, too big for just one drake, but home for him none the less and a somewhat peaceful home although once in awhile a dragon from the nearby clan would scream accusations at him and he would shake his head.
It wasn't long before his peace was disturbed when a fire started a town or so over, he took care to take preventative steps to keep his home from burning. Mordan went hunting, wanting some meat for his larder and made plans to smoke some of whatever he caught when he got back to his home. walking into his clearing he saw a lovely dragoness standing, trembling and covered in blood, he grunted as she backed into him and looked at him terrified.

"You're from the village?" he asked softly.
She nodded silently.
"Come inside, Princess, come rest." Mordan said gently.
"I-i'm not a princess, just a simple shop keep's daughter." she protested.
"Well then, My Lady Shop Keep, come rest. dawn will bring it's own decisions." he said offering her a hand.
She accepted his hand and got to her feet, following him to his home where he settled her at the table and went to cooking. the dragoness watched him as he cooked a simple meal, he was never any good at the fancier meals; dinner was more or less silent as they ate, Mordan shooed her away to his guest room after their meal was finished, insisting she rest and he could clean.

Mordan work and decided to try his claw at a dish he remembered from one of the clans he stayed in, it was a bit more fancy than he was used to making, but since he had a guest he thought to try something new. he had managed to set the cauldron on fire before he realized his guest was awake and watching him quietly from the small hall way.

"Would- would you like me to cook?" she asked.
"You cook?" Mordan asked a bit embarrassed.
"A bit." she confirmed.
"Yes please." he agreed readily.

Making a stew of sweet insects with herbs, root vegetables, and some spices she was seemed to get lost in what she was doing until the stew was finished and bowled up, she set the bowls on the table and cleaned a bit before sitting across from him.

"What's your name?" the Mordan asked.
"Bailey, and you are?" she countered.
"Mordan." he smiled "And a pleasure to meet you, Bailey."
"Nice to meet you as well."

Mordan was content Bailey had decided to stay and soon the two were close friends, maintaining the house and simply enjoying life. it was a bit cramped, but since she had nothing with her it made little difference to him, she seemed content and, he would never admit out loud that he thought his shirts looked far better on her. he warned her of the town not far away, he felt it only right since they didn't like him and were likely to become aggressive toward her if they knew she was staying with him through no fault of her own.
It had been months before Mordan surprised Bailey with a shopping trip to a village a few miles away and watched as she had fun, cloths, weapons, armor, and a few things he threw in as well, they spent most of the day laughing and having fun looking at shops and little stalls and stands.

It was when they were coming back that they saw the hut was on fire, set ablaze by the town and left to burn and collapse before they had walked far into the clearing. Mordan was upset that he had lost his home and most of his belongings, yet he had not lost his friend and as they sifted through the rubble and ashes for whatever might have survived he found a few trinkets.
They left the clearing and territory all together fearing that the town would attack them if they learned the two had survived. they took jobs and earned coin with ease and eventually joined a group for a short period, it was never for all too long as they worked best without others to distract them.

It didn't take long to take up adventuring, the pay was good and with no real constant home they couldn't really be chased out or trapped. Mordan was happy enough to accept jobs so long as they paid well and Bailey was content with them, splitting the pay equally between them; it wasn't long before a drake approached in holy armor. he claimed to be a paladin of the Lightweaver and in need of Bailey's assistance, Mordan glared as the male spoke to Bailey and tried to impress her, Mordan saved her from forming a polite response with one question: "What's the pay?"

Bailey laughed at the drake's reaction, outrage, he was upset they weren't willing to jump to his command and sputtered. Bailey placed a clawed hand on Mordan's arm, making him smile, and they began to discuss traveling with him for appropriate pay. soon they were traveling with him, Tantris, and they learned the error of their ways, Tantris took every opportunity to berate and lecture them- Mordan in particular which began a surprising yet welcome change in Bailey as they turned from friends to lovers nearly overnight.
They spent a great deal of time when they stayed in towns alone and had Tantris speculating what they had been doing spending so much time together, to which Bailey assured him it was none of his concern. Mordan found Tantris' distress amusing as they shopped and chatted late into the night in the privacy of their shared room with little care, they had lived in closer quarters without issue before and didn't let the accusations of one ruffle any scales.

Mordan invited Bailey to his mother's court as a guest, wearing finery they both looked as if they belonged, but Mordan felt out of place and felt ashamed for making Bailey a spectacle. her lack of a pearl was obvious as she carried no bag big enough to hold one nor did she have an answer to where she had hidden it and after several confused conversation Mordan heard whispers from his family. Bailey stood proudly defiant to their accusations and lifted her muzzle in false arrogance and Mordan felt burning pride for her act.
Whispers of trapped pearls interested him yet he knew better than to ask his family of them as they would expect something in return or simply lie, Mordan promised himself a drink in a tavern with questions probing for information on the subject. as he spoke with his mother she commented on how happy he seemed and he admitted that he was, he had come to terms with not having a real desire for her thrown and simply enjoyed their visits.

After several hours Mordan saw Bailey had met Aster and greeted the male himself, listening to talk of a brother he had never met and a sister in law he had not had the pleasure of meeting. Mordan listened quietly and after a bit excused himself to talk with other family as he knew to ignore his half sisters, their families, and select others would be an insult.
Mordan encouraged her to explore the Trapped Pearl stories, his mother told him enough of her lover that even he was interested in how far reaching they had become. while searching for these stories and the answers they would find Bailey spoke with dragons who had known her father and they finally admitted she had been adopted. Mordan consoled Bailey, although her upset passed quickly as her curiosity grew and her desire for answers with it, Mordan tried to help.

They had reached a town and after several days of cleaning themselves and maintenance on their belongings Mordan bid Bailey a soft and affectionate farewell as she went shopping. soon he was wandering, looking for new books and other things to entertain himself while they stayed there; he heard talk of a dragoness who matched Bailey's description being taken off by her 'friends' while drunk. Mordan froze, stiffening in fear and rage as he listened to speculation and gossip, he shook his head scolding himself that it could be a dragoness with similar scales and patterns.
When Bailey didn't return to him he took to looking for her and asking questions about his friend and trying to find her. it took far longer than he would have liked it to and finally tract down and one of the drakes that had 'helped' her at a tavern.

"Hello. Friend." he growled.
"What do you want?" the drake growled.
"Where is she?" Mordan hissed.
"Y'mean the trapped pearl?" he sneered.
"I mean the pale dragoness." Mordan he snarled.
"In the wear house waiting for her family." he sneered.
"You're going to lead me." Mordan growled.
"Why should I?" he hissed.
"Because I will shove a blast patch down your throat and watch it turn you into a mute." Mordan snarled.

He and the drake left the tavern and after a scuffle Mordan was lead to a house only to have to fight, although he wouldn't remember much of the fighting only the spells draining his energy and the screams he left behind him. he walked in without much thought, hearing soft thumps he found a locked room and destroyed the hinges with blast patches making Bailey jump and look up when the door fell limply from it's place.
Mordan freed her arms and legs before picking her up, ignoring Bailey's protests that she could in fact walk- he simply wanted her close after nearly a month wondering if she was alive. he courted her shortly after and they joined a clan although they still take jobs without hesitation or much thought- so long as it pays well.
