She watches over the clan's many familiars and also serves as an ambassador for the local Beastclans. She works with beasts far more often than she works with other dragons, sometimes making her an awkward conversationalist.

She is the leader of the Blackmoon Clan's mysterious druid group, known as the Sylvania Coven.

Ylva is rarely seen without her two familiars: Djavu, a large black wolf, and Alushu, a bear of the Murktooth Bramblekeep variety.

Ylva is the mate of Azshar Blackmoon - a key player in the Revolution and the clan's Head Guard. The two both play significant roles in the clan. They're always busy, and rarely find an opportunity to spend time together.
Azshar and Ylva are the parents of the deceased Overseer Austere Blackmoon, who ruled the clan for over two centuries.

Ylva played a small role in the Revolution, delivering messages from rebel to rebel.
