Polpii was one of the first to join the clan and is seen as one of the leaders due to his advanced age. He is the main teacher and his main duties involve teaching the young hatchlings about the history of the world, their clan and their surroundings. He doesn't let any hatchlings leave the lair without at least some knowledge of where they will go. Polpii loves to learn and tries to pass this love on to many others in the clan.
When he is teaching is one of the few times to hear him speak as he is often very solemn and quiet, carefully weighing his words before deciding to speak. Even with Glimmer, his life-mate, he only speaks when he thinks it is wise to. Despite his solemn attitude, Polpii is very patient and will let the hatchlings do whatever they wish as long as they settle down later and listen to him. He is slightly more strict on his own daughter, however, holding her to a higher standard but he does love her.
