Biography

esISD1t.png

Uh-oh, looks like this excitable pen pal has left his home lair (Aeranautics, 80182), and now he's off to see the world! If you ever feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off to See the World' thread. If you don't want another traveler in return, you can also drop him off at the Traveling Dragon Rest Hub. He's yours to do with as you please, though.
Secondly he is one out of three with this color combo
Wesley - Wes for short - has been sending letters to his pen pal, Aeshi, in the Sunbeam Ruins for months. She seemed like a sweet young lady, flirtatious but kind, and now they've decided it's time to meet in the flesh~!

He's going to meet her at an inn on the Sundial Terrace in her clan's territory. It's a grand place, you can't miss it! she wrote.

So Wes set off, threading his way through Greatwyrm's Breach, then flying towards the Sunbeam Ruins. But the dark mist cloaking the Tangled Wood blinded him. He dropped his map, and down into the darkness it went. How was he to know where to go now?! He doesn't want to keep Aeshi waiting!

Wes spiraled (pun intended) into the darkness, chasing after his map in the inky blackness. But he got disoriented in the dark and crashed into a glade of soft grass, mowing a furrow into the earth. Dazed, he shook himself and stood up, only then realizing that he wasn't alone; a somewhat solemn Gaoler frowned at him apologetically. "Sorry I made you crash."

Wes blinked at him in confusion. "What?"

"Anything that comes into contact with me is doomed to destruction," his companion informed him gloomily.

"No, no, that wasn't your fault! I couldn't see where I was going!" Wes assured him hastily.

The Gaoler looked at him for a moment, unconvinced. "...I suppose you're right."

They stared at one another awkwardly for a few moments, then MoldyCoffee offered, "Would you like me to escort you to the Fount of Travelers?"

"What's that?"

"I was just leaving, but it's a place for weary travelers to rest in between their adventures."

Wes accepted, and MoldyCoffee led him to a beautiful clearing in the Viridian Labyrinth, filled with dragons as colorful as the vibrant flowers that grew there. Though he enjoyed his stay, Aeshi weighed heavily on his mind, and Wes soon set off, eager to reach her.

Wes headed for Light territory - only when he got there he found out he'd been heading for the Lightning territory. But he was tired, and he was welcomed into the clan of Cloudsplit - a busy, bustling clan, their beautiful home carved deep into the sides of a canyon. There he met Aesara, another dragon who one day wanted to visit the Sunbeam Ruins. But for now, he helped her out by fathering some of her 100 hatchlings.

Then, saying goodbye to all the dragons he'd met, Wes went on his way, trying to remember if he was supposed to take a right or left at the next oasis...

tumblr_nj9kyb0AiI1r28672o8_640.png

He was supposed to have gone left. He was definitely supposed to have gone left. But somehow he only realised this once he'd reached the Starfall Isles. On the literal opposite side of the world! He spent a short time with one of the local clans, but he knew Aeshi would be waiting for him.

tumblr_nj9kyb0AiI1r28672o8_640.png

Wes was, once more, faced with a choice - left or right?

The last time, right had clearly been the wrong way to go, but surely this time right had to be the right way to go? That was just logic. Honestly, it was even in the name, and so Wes veered off to the right.

Unfortunately, he probably should have gone left this time, too, because rather than head back towards the mainland he found himself spiraling down into the Icefields. And that was very much not where he was supposed to or wanted to be at all. But doubling back, he ran right into the hungry mouths of a pack of half-starved wolves and he was forced to flee further into the cold. And it should be stated for the record that the starving, malnourished wolves that live on the edges of the Frigid Floes are desperate and determined creatures.

They chased him for hours. Once they'd finally given up, Wes continued on a bit further just in case; it seemed like the safest thing to do. As he drifted over the barren landscape he wondered what sort of terrible dragon he must have been in his last life to deserve such horrible luck. Perhaps he'd been an axe murderer.

But suddenly his awful luck turned around: there was an outpost out here smack in the middle of nowhere! He darted towards the possibility of a warm meal and shelter and found himself at the Erstwhile Watcher outpost. It was a brand-new outpost for the Valhallan dragons, its buildings only recently finished and its paths hardly trod.

And they were willing to feed him! They gave him lodging in exchange for labour, and Wes spent a couple of hours warming up by chopping firewood before tucking himself into the first snug bed he'd seen since the Isles.

He remained at Erstwhile for a fair bit on the advice of the locals, trading work for lodgings and supplies; there was a ship incoming that he'd be able to barter passage on. Being able to rely on someone else's sense of direction might do him good, he'd decided.

When the ship arrived, Wes happily boarded. He had a stock of supplies and a destination. Surely he'd meet Aeshi soon!

tumblr_nj9kyb0AiI1r28672o8_640.png

The ship docked in Lanternlea Port: at last he'd made it to the Sunbeam Ruins! But upon disembarking, he received terrible news: Aeshi had been kidnapped! Would he ever meet her now?!

Trying to process his feelings, he checked into an inn, whose residents did their best to distract him, inviting him to witness performances from the dance troupe or try his claw at different crafts in the artists' commune. But mostly he talked to others, residents and fellow travelers alike. It sort of worked? He ended up having a fling with Gefen, fathering her hatchlings and helping spread The Herd.

But he was restless and decided it was time to move on.

Unsure of what to do, or where to start looking for Aeshi, Wesley wandered about for awhile. He stopped at an Inn with other travelers and traded stories and rested while he thought about what to do. He didn't stay long before deciding maybe he should retrace his steps. Wes made his way back to the Clan of Cloudsplit with one of the travelers he had met, Midna. The Clan of Cloudsplit was happy to welcome them both back for a visit, and they were quickly put to work. While he was there though, Wes decided to try his luck asking the clan's historian, DustSeeker, if she might have any information where Aeshi might have been taken. There was a lot of information but it didn't help much. DustSeeker recommended trying the Tangled Wood, where unsavory characters might be willing to help for coin or the Starfall Isles for a Seer to assist him.

After a few days Midna was caught trying to steal an ancient map! While they didn't ask Wes to leave with her, he felt he had gotten all he could that would help in his search, and said goodbye to the Clan of Cloudsplit and the friends he'd made again.

Heading for the Ashfall Waste, he quickly was taken in by a clan called The Truthseekers of the Molten Scar. He was happy to not have to travel far before getting to rest, coming straight out of Wind Territory. He could feel he was no closer to his pen pal, though. None of the clan seemed to have seen it. They offered him some food and work to do for the clan, before he was sent off. He was invited to come back whenever, but at the moment they were pressed for space, and he needed to leave the crowded lair. With a quick goodbye, he spiraled off.

tumblr_nj9kyb0AiI1r28672o8_640.png

As Wesley now returned to the Starfall Isles for a cooldown from the wastelands and found a rest place for travelers like himself. His goal was to chill and have a break from the constant burdens of travel. There was though strange travelers he met aswell who either been in the sky for years or green ones excited for their next stop. Unfortunately he was far away from the Sunbeam ruins to meet his pal, but seemed to not be the time just yet. He has heard though from previous travels that his pen pal maybe is in a dormant clan perhaps eliminating his chance to ever physically seeing them. The clan's travel lodge keepers gave him all the simple items for travel as they were like the last lair with little space except they were expecting hatchlings within days. He nodded pleased with the geniune dragons and flew onto his destination which he didn't know at the moment, but wouldn't last for too long.

tumblr_nj9kyb0AiI1r28672o8_640.png

NOTE: REDO LORE. Wesley ended up back at the Ashfall Waste, again, and tried to contact the clan he had been with before. However, they were still pressed for space, but encouraged him to visit a very rich company that may be able to help him…

The Ambassadors of Flame weren’t keen to let him in at first, but with some persuasion from Risen, Rakai allowed him to stay for a few days. The clan predominantly manufactured for war, but knew of a detective that may be able to help him, if he had the money.
