Biography

Midna
The Spy
Uh-oh, looks like this secret spy wandered a little too far from her home lair Lunarduo 539258, and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return him/her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Midna's queen sent her out to collect information about other clans. Midna somtimes returns to report back to her queen. She is always disguised in another color when visiting other clans. (a skin/accent that goes with her.) Don't underestimate her.

Hm. For a clan of this size, I expected much more interpersonal...excitement. It was easy enough to slip in and out of different quadrants unnoticed; a constant influx and outflux of dragons is always useful in guarding my steps. But the refugees that take up camp here have very little interest to me, and the Parlors, where the elites of this clan gather...quite clichey. All of them were very attentive when I spoke to them - too attentive for my liking. Especially that Setsuna. If anything, I felt as if she was spying on me...

I still managed to swipe some gold and materials for my troubles.

During my travels, I came across a fellow spy named Snicket. He claimed he was checking out what "Deer's Death" was doing... whatever that meant. I almost wanted to join in, but I was confused as to what we were actually looking for.

Snicket complimented me on my usage of a skin to disguise myself - he thought I was a familiar at first. Apparently, he's used his fair share of apparel items when disguising himself in Deer's Death. One particular instance involved him blending in so well, they outright thought he was a member of the clan - he ended up staying for a while just to not break the illusion.

I thanked Snicket for spending some time with me, but asked him not to tell the rest of his clan about me. Somehow, I don't think I'll forget him.

Following my time at Deer's Death, I found myself at an unknown clan, with a strange security system, if you can call it that. I disguised myself again and entered the clan, and met Scylla, master, or should I say mistress, of disguise with quite a temper. She and her mate Issac were the only ones that seemed interested in my spying, regardless of what and who I was spying on. Scylla taught me a couple of tips for disguise, and I told her a bit about spycraft which she seemed to enjoy.

The last I saw of them they were going to take a long rest from the clan.

Lanternlea Port seemed like a good place to investigate - lots of comings and goings, trade traffic up and down the outer sea coast, scholarly types who seemed likely to be both full of knowledge and highly gullible... The clan I ended up investigating most thoroughly is a big one, with members and their holdings all through the port city (and even onto the ocean; they own a ship with a shady-looking crew who clearly engage in at least some piracy) and a well-secured, walled-off main compound.

Unfortunately, that's where they keep all the good stuff - the library, the museum, the hoarded treasure - and they have a lot of well-trained fighters in there, keeping guard. I made a few overhead passes, but when I got too low someone started shooting arrows at me. Luckily, their archer or archers are either bad shots or they were just trying to chase me off. I may need another disguise; I guess there aren't a lot of stray Croakers around here. I got better results out of disguise, when I was making idle chit-chat with the merchants and killing time at the tea shop. That may be the better approach when it comes to these city dragons.

That, or just sneaking in under cover of night and skulking around the compound. I'm not going to try that here - my fly-bys seem to have them on high alert - but it's something to remember for the next time.

It was decided that i needed to... expand my horizon and survey a new land entirely. I chose a grove at the 'edge of the world.' It was difficult to find at first and in my frustration I was found; by a large imperial covered in feathers and dark cloth who introduced herself as Navi. She invited me to rest at their travelers lodge.
And here I thought I was being careful....

After my time at the edge of the world, I was looking for a new clan to watch and gather information on, when i stumbled across a clan before even noticing it. They were in the Plaguelands, but looked like they were about to head over to Shadow’s Forests. It was odd seeing the dissaray the clan was in- packing with boxes and satchels everywhere, dragons departing who wished to leave or wished not. There was no sense of order, though signs of previous leadership were scattered around on a strong wind that felt full of magic. As much as I’d have loved to stay and delve further, it seemed the dragons were too chaotic in their move to even know any information themselves.

Back in Lanternlea. I wanted another shot at that library, now that enough time has passed that they're probably off high alert.

It feels weird wandering around out of disguise. Like I'm naked. I bought some apparel, just to help with that, and started asking questions about cartography, history, philosophy... archaeology was the one where I finally hit the jackpot. They apparently have a small team of archaeologists, a few good finds, and a totally gullible, open-arms approach to anyone who claims to be a visiting scholar. I was given the grand tour!

Unfortunately, the stuff they have might be fascinating to a real scholar, but it's all just... stuff. Records, inscriptions, rubbings from cave walls. No magical crystals or artifacts full of sealed power. It's possible they have something hidden away somewhere, but I didn't sense anything like that. Maybe an expert in the subject could have.

They did let slip that they're pretty new members of the Light Flight, transfers from Nature. So despite their wealth and numbers, they don't have strong ties with the local authorities yet. Most likely if they landed on anything with real magical power, it'd be confiscated, if they didn't hand it over voluntarily to curry favor.

I'm done with this place for now. If I end up here again I hope they find something interesting just to make it worth my while.

I met a fellow traveler at an Inn, and it seems like his friend has been kidnapped. I've been bored for awhile and decided to go along with him to one of the clans he visited before. The Clan of Cloudsplit is like many of the Lightning Clans- busy and occupied with their work. We both helped out and earned our keep while staying there. I went with him to speak with the Clan's historian and record-keeper, DustSeeker, so he could try and find out where his friend had been taken. Meanwhile, I decided to peruse the ancient books and maps, certain that there would be valuable information in there. After a few days though, my claws got itchy and I was caught trying to steal a map. The clan was nice but they, understandably, couldn't put up with such shoddy craftsmanship and sent me back out to find another clan. At least I got some good information!

I have once again entered the lands of the Arcanist. The clan I'm staying with seems to have been newly formed and there aren't many residents. Honestly it seems to be a bit of a mess. There is no leadership, no organisation, nothing. And the members seem to be rather naive. Thye welcomed my with open arms, and didn't even blink at my sneaking around! Admittedly I could have been a bit more careful but it didn't seem worth it. And the intel I got isn't that much either, it really wasn't worth it.
