Alseid - In Greek mythology, Alseids (/ælˈsiːɪdz/; Ἀλσηΐδες) were the nymphs of glens and groves. Of the Classical writers, the first and perhaps only poet to reference alseids is Homer. Rather than alseid he used the spelling alsea. (from Wikipedia) The grove Amaia stayed in was peaceful. She befriended the local beastclans and dryads, and often helped out the wildlife. And yet, she was lonely. She desired something more - she desired companionship. A true friendship, not a mere truce. One day, a strange man approached her, offering her deepest desire in exchange for a hatchling from her first clutch of eggs. Amaia accepted. For a time, she stayed at the lab; there, she met many dragons, who came and went with the flow of time. In the lab, she met an angel. Angelo, he called himself. They became friends very quickly, and soon that friendship blossomed into something more. It was perfect. It was exactly what she had desired - a true companion, closer than close. She granted Angelo the gift of roses, and he allowed them to spread on his wings. He granted Amaia his love in return, and she savoured it. And so it was that when she returned to her grove, she did not return alone.
