Biography

luminiferous, adj. Producing or transmitting light.
luminiferous aether, n. The supposed medium through which light is transmitted.
Appropriate for an Arcane-element dragon?

He is the son of Montgomery, the son of Yuda, the son of Sal, the son of Sombra. (#68314)
His mother, Metana, is the daughter of Nenuial, the daughter of Scilla. (#98166)

He arrived at the Solar Solar while still a hatchling, claiming to have been planning on entering the Lightweaver's service until he heard that there was a newly-founded clan looking for immigrants. He and Lucita quickly became great friends; they both wish they were Circuit-patterned and they're both devoted to the Lightweaver despite not being Light-element by birth. (They also both have bats as familiars!)

They also both wished they'd hatched as Nocturnes ever since the first Night of the Nocturne, and during the second Night both had their wish fulfilled by Setah!

Just after the first Trickmurk Circus since her Nocturnification, Lucita adopted a tesselated pattern for her wings; she and Luminiferous had a nest together to celebrate, in hopes that the pattern would breed true. It did, indeed, and they had three eggs: Albus, Corallia, and Mazenta, all of whom left before a full solar day had elapsed since their hatching, for the Tangled Wood, the Tangled Wood, and the Scarred Wasteland, respectively.

Luminiferous didn't adjust as well to being a Nocturne as Lucita is; she'd at least eaten insects as well as plants, while a Skydancer, but he'd only ever eaten plants. Still, by the time of the second Trickmurk Circus after their Nocturnification, he'd settled into his new shape well enough that he and Lucita were able to mysteriously earn (or 'earn'?) the funds needed for Circuit scrolls, and Circuitificated they became!

By the time of their fourth Night of the Nocturne, they had had eleven hatchlings in total together, three of whom remained with clans rather than having left for a deity's service: Aequitas then lived with a clan of the Wandering Contagion, Rousettus with a clan of the Leviathan Trench, and Linduensis with a clan of the Focal Point. Veritas, from their third nest, had lived with the Solar Solar for a while, even nesting with Triskaidekaphile, the clan's other Nocturne, but had departed for the Lightweaver's service when it became apparent that Trissa would only ever be devoted to smashing harpies. Albus, their first-hatched, had had many hatchlings while in the Tangled Wood; Astrea, the second of Albus's hatchlings, developed glowing eyes during the flare of magic that altered every nest on Sornieth.

During their ninth Night of the Nocturne, Luminiferous's iridescence was transformed into fern-like patterns. Naturally he and Lucita immediately had a nest. This resulted in three eggs, none of whom inherited his patterning.
