||The Trickster||



A slippery and devious dragon Salazar likes to play pranks and tricks on anyone he can, but he knows better than to pull anything on the All-Mother or Father so he tries his luck with most members of the clan but has nearly lost an arm trying to trick Sombra.
He does seem to like the hatchlings more than anyone else aside the All-Father but that’s probably because they are the most gullible due to their age. Past all that he does care very deeply about everyone in the clan he just struggles to express it correctly without messing it up with a joke somehow but those he cares about know he means well by it even if it means they might find squeaky toys hidden all around their den. He typically tries to keep things harmless, he doesn’t want to hurt anyone unintentionally and even though the jokes can get annoying he will back off if asked.

He is a perfect babysitters for the young hatchlings as even though he may be one of the oldest members of the clan his energy seems to be limitless, he’s even gotten some of the hatchlings in on his tricks before now, which while annoying for some is also heartwarming for others. Some of the parents aren’t always too fond of his methods but he has learned to tone it down so that he can play with them on a less jokey level. His services are often called upon by parents run ragged by large clutches and need some me time, he’ll happily swoop in and start flying around in odd shapes and patterns to hold their attention or have them chase him to tire them out.

A wind dragon Salazar is eerily quiet, seemingly floating on the breeze. This makes it all the more easy for him to carry out his tricks. What most clan members aren’t aware of though is the fact he typically scouts out the lair when he’s not busy. Spirals need for small dens caused Salazar to end up creating many winding passages in the walls of the lair, many of which go undiscovered till a new den is being carved out for someone and they break into a thin vein of hollow rock, sometimes ladened with odd objects. Almost every other spiral dragon in the lair knows of and uses these tunnel systems. Some faes even pop in sometimes for a quick route across to the hoard for a snack. Salazar routinely runs gusts of air through the system to know of any blockages and while inside can use it as almost a form of echo location, knowing if anyone is ahead of him in case he needs to take a different route.

These self made tunnels are known as “the airways”, many figured he would use them to pull even more tricks but that’s rarely the case, sometimes he frightens unsuspecting dragons when he suddenly appears seemingly out of no where. However he actually uses them most of the time to keep an eye on things. Being one of the oldest clan members he’s been around the block a few times and knows when something is up, almost like he can smell it on the air. Something else about the airways is they can act, in times of emergency, as an alarm system. Salazar can bellow into a tunnel and this great wind will carry the words to every hole in the lair so soon everyone knows there is a problem. Thankfully this feature has rarely been used, he performs tests on it every few months with some degree of warning.

Salazar is the father of Oracle who was the first dragon born after the All-Mothers transformation, while it was a shock to him that his son bore so many additional eyes he and his mate Gerard raised him with love and affection just the same. He’s very proud that he was about to bare such an interesting a powerful child and feels it is his greatest accomplishment (just don’t tell his other kids).
