Kunz came to the clan with his brother Fuma, though the two of them are rather distant and do not often spend time together unless gathered with other members of their clan. Kunz enjoys settling into the dark reaches of the cave system the clan calls home and busying himself studying scrolls and relics that his Earth dragon family have dug up or scavenged.

He is the epitome of a Light dragon, always searching for answers in the ancient past. Focusing specifically on mystical and magical energies that surround this world, he delves as deep as he can in pursuit of his next big breakthrough. He can range from docile and quiet in conversations to enthusiastic and boisterous when asked for his opinion.

He is extremely narrow-minded, however, and rarely listens to advice from other dragons - they do not know as much as him, after all. He can be disdainful of less-learned dragons and those without a sense of direction in their lives, saying that they will never amount to anything if they cannot even find a path to walk. Promising hatchlings do catch his eye from time to time, and he will try to pull them under his (albiet tiny) wing and motivate them to follow in his footsteps.

His relationship with Angie is a questionable one to most of the clan - and around others he hardly treats her any different than he treats everyone else. It has been noticed though that she is the only one that can drag him out of his study (where he can spend hours to days on end if perplexed by a particular problem) without consequence or argument (outside of some predictable grumbling).
