Opala was sent to retrieve Bella after her presence began to be missed around the The Lightning Farm. She chose not to return to Lightning's territory because she did not want to continue maintaining the code she wrote for a particularly aggressive axe-wielding robot ("Mr. Kill"). Opala often travels to Light territory with Anton because he has unlimited cellular data and Opala loves taking pictures in the Mirrorlight Promenade and uploading them to Instawyrm.

Despite trying to present herself as a very nice young dragon lady who is only slightly evil, Opala harbors a deep, deep secret...
She loves ketchup. Like those afflicted with lycanthropy or anime, when exposed to her infatuation -- ketchup -- Opala becomes downright fiendish. All she can think about becomes ketchup: writhing in it, eating it, spreading how joyful ketchup makes her. Slathered in the red, tomato-y goodness, her mascara runs and runs while round horns erupt from her head to show how weird this whole transformation business is. Opala's uncontrollable love for the condiment, despite its euphoria-inducing effects, is Opala's Achille's heel. She wants no one to know about her secret, though several other lair inhabitants have claimed to have seen a ketchup-covered Spiral shrieking around the lair from time to time, especially when Bylar brings fast food in from Wind's Windy Burger 2 Go joint. Opala also has many fashion- and style-related arguments with Fritz, 'the grumpy old nasty man'.  |

Makeup and its associated artistry is one of Opala's passions. Unfortunately her collection is often pilfered and eaten by the other lair dragons because 'it looked tasty', so Opala has taken to hiding her collection deeper and deeper in the j-ello pools (the Plagueland's quarantine zone, where the odd craters full of dangerous liquid are). Exposure to the uh, j-ello, has had adverse effects on both the makeup and Opala. She sometimes grows extra horns, or more teeth, or gains the ability to hop straight up in the air to great heights. This doesn't both Opala too much. |
| Creating Light-inspired costumes and makeup to go along with her theatrics is all part of Opala's shtick. A wardrobe filled with airy linens and jewelry boxes teeming with bangles, necklaces, and jewels keep Opala from downloading new firmware to Bella that would make her laser beams eyes much more powerful and dangerous to Opala's lair-mates. Not that would actually care much, or be frightened... don't tell Opala. |
