Info: Sonya would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt her after she's been travelling long enough, just let her owner know! Backstory: Sonya has retired from traveling to try her luck at running a hardware store! Stop by Sonya's Supplies for great deals on all kinds of tools, materials, or to take classes for all kinds of skills! Theme Song: 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton (courtesy of @Aquarithyst) Owners I’ve Had: Festivoog MaybeJester Arauko / grxndsxn Angdracorn angrydragonady, 276835 Lirillith, 149136 Serendipitysnake, 541413 Strangeflesh Storm773, 75959 Festivoog Log 1: Festivoog With her family's blessing, Sonya left the Oculus Clan and set out with her supplies. Her home clan will have to manage the trails on their own from now on. Nothing to worry about! She taught them well. Other clans need her help maintaining their roads, trails, and pathways. Who knows what unique problems she'll need to solve? Log 2: MaybeJester Sonya has arrived at The Emerald Safeway. It was a lovely clan, full of dragons who have been through much. She was happy to help with their needs; Everyone could use a hand every now and again. While she maintained things, she came across a hatchling that took a liking to her. Infact, he insisted on her staying with him. This wasnt quite the plans she had when she went travelling, but none the less, she was happy to entertain him. This lovely young fae excitedly learned her skills as he grew, soaking in the knowledge she gave him. Now, the clan will be able to keep the tools she had, and she could continue on her journey. Log 3: Arauko Her travels took her next to a remote location in the Wispwillow Grove, where she met Minos, who had a fascination with the roads, but not on how to maintain them. They spent some time together, learning stories about places and other dragons from each other while Sonya worked her magic, yet all too soon she had to leave and help the next clan. Log 4: (Sonya visited someone else's clan before mine, but it seems like they didn't add a log entry. I am leaving this space here to show that Sonya visited the fourth player's clan and probably fixed a road there. - Ang) Log 5: Angdracorn (Sorry if the story is too long, I tried to shorten it.) Sonya arrived at Caerulea, an aquatic city located in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. It was a large city with roads that floated on the water. She was met by Barb, a farmer who showed her the agricultural district's main road, which had been smashed through completely. Barb nonchalantly told Sonya, "This sorta thin' happens 'round here all th' time. Darn monster swims by n' smashes everythin' with it's tail. This is th' worst I've seen it though, so it'd be great if ya could help fix th' road." After they repaired the road, Sonya showed Barb how to reinforce it. Suddenly, there was a loud THUMP sound. The road shook, almost knocking both of them into the water, but it didn't crack. They watched as a large striped creature with a long tail swam deeper below the surface. After Barb thanked Sonya for her help in fixing and strengthening the road, Sonya left Caerulea to visit the next clan. Log6: angrydragonlady Sonya really tired to beat down some roads but the wetlands are resistant and the clan mother does a good job of keeping things clear, pruned, and shaped. Thus, Sonya doesn't have a lot to do, but she would admit it was nice to rest her feet and have some seafood pies for awhile. Log 7: Lirillith Sonya had a feeling Light Flight territory didn't really need her, but after passing through Nature's wetlands and doing a little volunteer work in her passage through Shadow, the giant, clear path into the Sunbeam Ruins came next. It was even mostly paved, all marble and smooth-packed dirt. And then it opened up onto the Emperor's Wake. No wonder that was what they called it now - the area was demolished, with furrows of earth big enough to hide a Ridgeback torn into the ground, massive marble pillars and sculptures tossed around like a child's toys, and charred ruins showing where dwellings used to be. So they might need help, but she wasn't all that sure she could help. It wasn't like she could face down an Emperor. A local guide offered to help her through the Hewn City, and on to Lanternlea; once she was safely on the main thoroughfare leading to the port, she began to see side roads, not always in the best repair. She picked one and set to work; at the end of it, she found a small village. The inn, called the Helianthus Haven, was surrounded by sunflowers, and the room she rented was as cheerful and bright as the outside of the inn had looked. She spent quite some time there, assisting in trail maintenance - the clan had some far-flung fields and workshops without official paths - before she decided she was ready to face the journey through either the Hewn City or the Emperor's Wake. Log 8: Serendipitysnake Sonya made her way down the winding path towards the small town of Underhel. It was a town on a lake. Islands in the lake were connected with stunning black stone bridges. Large black stone towers ran around the lake with fires burning at the top of each one. She thought it was one of the most beautiful places she has ever seen. As she made her way across one of the bridges heading towards the town city she passed by a wagon with a broken wheel. The dragon next to it looked to be struggling to fix it. Sonya offered her help and they quickly worked together to fix it. The dragon, who's name was Spooky, offered her some of his candy from the wagon. Telling her about his candy shop as they made their way deeper into the town. She thought she would really like it here and planned to stay a few extra days to explore the town properly. Log 9: Festivoog Sonya didn't want to admit it, but after months of traveling she was starting to feel a little homesick. She packed up her work tools and began the trek back to the Arcane flight. It was good to be home! She regaled her parents and old friends with tales of the far-off places she'd seen (and showed off the new muscles she's grown!) Her parents had kept busy in her absence and were in the process of expanding their gardens. She wasn't good at taking care of plants, but she could build a mean fence in half the time they could. Sonya decided to stick around and reconnect with her family. But adventure is always lurking in the back of her mind... Log 10: Festivoog Her taste for adventure continued and she decided to participate in the New Year's Navigation event! Her team made a valiant effort and took 5th place. It seems that muscles aren't everything when it comes to securing a victory. (Not that placement matters. She had a blast!) Log 11: Festivoog Sonya kept making half-hearted attempts to get back on the road, but something came up every time. The path to the water well was blocked by a freak landslide and needed excavation. A neighbor was trying to build a shed and didn't know what kind of wood to use. An artist needed advice on what kinds of metal would be best for kinetic outdoor sculptures. And Sonya would stick around for a little while longer. The dream grew little by little, but she eventually decided to open a hardware store: Sonya's Supplies! Opening a new business wasn't easy, but Sonya found that entrepreneurship suited her. Not only can she help other dragons with the trailblazing activities that she still loves after all this time, but now she's working hard to become a source of knowledge for the community. Stop by sometime! She's teaching classes on bricklaying this month, next month she's selling stained glass kits for anyone who wants to take a beginner's course from a local artist, then there's the carpentry trade show at the end of the year she has to prepare for, but first the midsummer sale and stone sculpture competition... (TL;DR: she's busy and happy! She even has a new mate: TimberPup!) |
