PERSONALITY Umbra is a typically dignified and elegant dragon. He seems aloof to most while in his shop, but outside of it is an unruly gossip. Umbra loves to collect and share rumors or secrets, making him a rather untrustworthy dragon for secrets. The only exception is his mate Myniara who he cares for and protects with his life. ABOUT History Umbra started his life in the Hewn City under his story loving mother and gossip oriented father. He tended to hang out around the tailoring shop of a family friend, becoming an apprentice quickly. Umbra was a quick learner and hardworking, helping him immensely progress in his craft quickly. By the age of 15 he had mastered his craft and decided to move on to a clan willing to buy more of his clothes and apparel. Umbra joined the Sanctuary still young and was assigned to a tutor with other hatchlings his age. He worked hard to become educated as much as he could, but practiced and sold his hand tailored apparel on the side. Umbra also noticed a particular Nocturne that was tutored alongside him. Myniara was an interesting member of the Sanctuary being the first dragon to join that was mostly blind. Umbra noticed that she always fiddled with something in her claws as class went on, and eventually he pulled up the nerve to ask. To his surprise Myniara fiddled with embroidery on a hankerchief of excellent skill, handcrafted by herself. Impressed, Umbra invited Myniara to help him with his clothes, to give them a bit of flair. Myniara only agreed to this once they were let out from their tutor’s care and the two worked together to build a fabulous shop in the Sanctuary. Somewhere along the line the two became close and eventually mates. Currently Umbra spends his days with Myniara working on various works for their shared shop, Starmapped Cloths. Umbra is great at keeping their shop wellkept and clean, ordering the shop's many displays for maximum viewing. They style their apparel choices mostly after the constellations that are reflected on their bodies, but take commissioned works of other types. Whenever Umbra decides to spend time outside the shop it is with other members of the Sanctuary gathering gossip and rumors to share randomly. He’s close with many of the Coatls, as they delight in sharing the knowledge that they randomly catch in conversation. Umbra is from a cursed, but now strong lineage and does his best to keep in touch with other members of his family. He informs his family Melany and Moonlight of the children he and Myniara have, glad to help with the effort to keep their line strong.  |
