The jar contains runoff from Ethelred; partially to keep the Muck and the lab clean - partially because it's useful.
No one knows where Tabian's eye scar is from. He refuses to say. To him, at least, it is a sign of his strength and survival. 
Tabian loves a good cup of tea, be that for himself alone, shared with a friend, or as a means to help a patient calm down.

What good is wisdom
If not coupled to kindness? PERSONALITY A deeply ethical individual, Tabian believes that one should always remember that the individual one is treating is a person first and foremost. Consequently he has clashed with Bilberrios a number of times, and has ended up close friends to a number of similarly minded dragons. Generally Tabian is quiet, curious, and an excellent listener: he legitimately finds others interesting to listen to and is good at providing constructive feedback and, when necessary, comfort and advice. ABOUT Tabian was born in the Southern Icefield where he grew up and spent a good portion of his life before finally moving to the Ashfall Wastes. Quite why he moved he keeps largely to himself - his given reason of "to challenge myself" is (correctly) regarded by most dragons to be a deflection, or at least only a portion of the actual truth. But his reasons are his own, and generally, given how hard he works and how well he gets along with those around him, he's left be. Tabian cares deeply for every dragon around him - and even non-dragons and constructs. When confronted with Aerea and Gienah he was surprised but curious, and spent some time talking to them about their perspectives on the world, and to Pyrmal who created them. He has also tried to have constructive conversations with Bilberrios, but finds the pearlcatcher's disinterest in ethics when it conflicts with his particular area of interest to be disturbing. While no one can fault Bilberrios' care of a patient he's helping through a breed, gene or eye change, his care for his various cauldron creations is... lacking. Luckily, Tabian is not alone in this belief - Bil's own mate believes that Bil's treatment of his creations is decidedly subpar and Porcelain regularly comes to Tabian for a comforting, listening ear. Indeed, it happens so regularly that some dragons speculate as to the closeness between Porcelain and Tabian - but there is nothing to it beyond legitimate friendship. Tabian enjoys a good cup of tea and friendly company, and Porcelain is his friend and in need of a listening ear; he is glad to provide and knows full well what he's getting into. Generally, Tabian supports Porcelain's drive to make Bilberrios a better person, though he'd be the first to admit he's sceptical as to if Bilberrios would ever achieve it. Nonetheless, he hopes, for sake of the children, that Bil does. In the meantime Tabian has plenty of work of his own to be getting along with, both medical and beginning some of the first alienistic practice in Sornieth, helping dragons such as Sentinel.
