FEATURES & TRAITS
Warding Flare - When you are attacked by a creature (that can be blinded) within 30 ft. that you can see, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You can use this feature 4 times per long rest.

Channel Divinity: Radiance of the Dawn - As an action, you can use Channel Divinity and present your holy symbol to dispel any magical darkness within 30 ft. Each hostile creature (that doesn't have total cover) within 30 ft. must make a CON saving throw (DC 14) or take 2d10 +6 radiant damage (half damage on success).

Improved Flare - You can also use your Warding Flare feature when a creature that you can see within 30 ft. of you attacks a creature other than you.

Shapechanger - As an action, you can change your appearance and your voice. You determine the specifics of the changes, including your coloration, hair length, sex, height and weight. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature you’ve never seen, and you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that you have. Your clothing and equipment aren’t changed by this trait.

HISTORY
When Heide was an infant, due to either the death of their parents or just by abandonment, they were left on the steps of the Church of Lathander in the city of Baldur's Gate. Thought to be a sickly, yet ordinary human baby, they were taken in. It was decided they would be dedicated to Lathander and raised in the ways of the church. Rudolf Solcrest was the priest put in charge of them, and he gave them the name "Lux". It was not long after he discovered that the child that had been placed in his care was not a human at all, but a changeling. Though he knew it was risky to continue to raise the child due to harsh societal views of changelings and the controversy that could come of having one in the church, Ruldolf feeling pity & compassion for the child, continued to raise Lux away from the others in the church under the guise that the child was weak and sickly. Though some in the church had less savory views, Dolf believed that all lives were a blessing from Lathander and deserved an equal chance to live under his sun.

When Lux was a child and gained control over his ability to freely shapeshift, Dolf warned him of the trouble that could come if it was ever discovered that he was a changeling. He advised Lux to disguise himself as human and to guard his secret closely lest many troubles find him. Lux did just this and adopted his first & main persona, giving it the name his father figure bestowed upon him. That day he also secretly adopted the name of 'Heide' (pronounced Hide) as a more personal name, as he was "forced to hide himself away from eyes of the world". This name serves as a reminder to him of sorts.

Dolffy's kindness was something he could never fully pay back, however he wanted to show his gratitude to his father-like figure in some manner, so he thought a good way would be to become successful within the church despite the odds against him. When Lux was a teen he decided to work hard and eventually climb the ranks to becoming a cleric of Lathander. Of course this wasn't his only motivation for wanting to become a cleric, being taught to spread hope & compassion to others from a young age, a big part of Lux genuinely wants to help others and he figured becoming a cleric was a good way to do it.

Growing up in the church Heide continued to craft his persona as someone who was likable, charismatic, smart, and a hard worker. Through perfecting the persona Lux, Heide also sharpened their acting skills and became quite skilled at fooling others. With the growth of their acting, Heide was able to pick up a few diverse minor personas, each serving a different purpose.

Eventually when he was a young adult he achieved his goal of becoming an official cleric in the church. That day was one of his proudest moments, and one of the few times he felt he actually 100% achieved something with his own merit. For his achievement Rudolf, after a heartfelt speech of how proud he was, gifted him with his own emblem of Lathander that would be useful on the path of being a cleric. Not wanting to disappoint, Lux continued to work hard as a cleric and became a fairly skillful one.

Two years after he became a cleric, Lux began to have worrisome dreams every five nights. In these apocalyptic dreams, the world is destroyed by cold, choking fumes, lightning storms, waves of acid, and horrible fire. Each time, the dream ends with ten evil eyes glaring at him from the darkness. With the dreams also came the oddest compulsion to travel to the city Greenest. Concerned, Lux let Rudolf & the other priests know of the dreams and sudden compulsion. After much discussion, the congregation deemed that these must be prophetic dreams from Lathander and that Lux would investigate with the support of the church. So with the blessings of the church, Lux took some supplies, as well as a gift from Dolffy (a periapt of wound closure), and headed out. He joined with a caravan of merchants headed toward the same place under the agreement that he would act as a healer and night guard until the caravan reached its destination.

RELATIONS
Rudolf Solcrest (Adopted Father)
The man who raised Heide as a kid & gave them their first name. Even if they don't always publicly show their affection for him, they really love and respect him. Heide considers their father figure as one of their main supporting pillars & would do almost anything for him. Their childhood nickname for him is Dolfy/Doffy (which they're now a bit embarrased about).

CAMPAIGN LOG
Session #1: Went pretty well! Met part of his party which is definitely an odd bunch but he's not in a position to complain. He's also like 90% of the party's impulse control rn lol. Party members think they're human and they'd prefer to keep it that way, tho one of the npcs instantly figured out their secret and they had an internal panic attack. Rolled pretty well in this campaign and accidentally vaporized some enemies :p Tho his stealth rolls were iffy, and one time when jumping over a wall he landed directly on an enemy's shoulders lol (but it all ended up ok). At one point he and his measly 9 hit points did get down to half after 1 hit lol, but it was fineeee. Can't wait to play more of him/them

Other party members consist of Jackal, a ??? monk who's covered head to toe and wears a white jackal mask. They don't speak much, but when they do it's always interesting to say the least. They're a tiny chaotic gremlin in an adult's(?) body.

and Kiiwi, a 3ft aarakockra kiwi bird bard who has a lot of mystery surrounding her, a french accent, and is just as chaotic as Jackal.

Session #1.5: Was able to have a short mini session today. The rest of the party was very chaotic very early in the morning, this is just gonna be Lux's life now lol. Got asked to do a job and during said job Lux got to meet the final party member, an elderly tortle named Jougi. There was also a mini boss fight today. The weird class matchups within the party we have going on REALLY shouldn't be working as well as they are lmao. Lux and their measly 15 hit points hid behind Jougi the whole time while casting attack/healing spells. Big Mini Bad got taken down easily enough, & party got a bag of holding which went to Jougi who made it into a fanny pack to complete her grandma look lol. Party has also jokingly been deemed Lux's Petting Zoo because of how weird the other members are.

Session #2: Ho boy a lot happened. While freeing a few prisoners in a cult camp we met our newest party member, Faith, who swapped out for Kiiwi, it also turned out one of the prisoners saved was Jackal's adopted dad. Upon returning to the camp the next day to free the rest of the prisoners, Lux n Co. discovered that everything had been burned to the ground and the prisoners killed. A group of hunters let them know what happened, and were like 'yeah this all happened becuase you guys broke out their top prisoner, it's y'all's fault these people died'. Lux proceded to have an internal panic attack because this messes him up and this does not help his imposter syndrome in the slightest. Luckily the party includes Jougi, the elderly tortle, who acts as the mental support of the party, who proceeded to tell the hunters off and helped Lux out a bit. We also got to do our first dungeon delve in pursuit of the cult that killed the prisoners. Somehow we ended up speedrunning to the first boss who we weren't supposed to meet yet, but it turned out fineeee. Lux got to show off his channel divinty when the boss raised zombies which was a cool part of the fight. Lux also got superrr stressed when the dmpc got messed up but luckily he saved him just in time. After struggling thru the fight party found a ton of loot and decided to long rest before continuing for the spell casters' sakes.

And for anyone curious what happened to Kiiwi she decided to travel with Jackal's dad and by extension sorta kinda joined The Harpers. An absolutely chaotic thing that shouldn't have been allowed to happen but did anyway. Now it's Jackal's Dad's burden to bare (it's his karma for being like that)

Also Faith is a tiefling swarmkeeper druid, we don't know much about her yet except her swarm of poisonous moths act as prosthetic arms. She seems mostly more down to earth much to Lux's relief. (Tho she did melt a man's face off with her poison moth arms)

Session #2.5:
So continuing from last time the party continued to adventure on into the dungeon. Lux and the dmpc found a trap door that had a bunch of prisoners down in it. After freeing them the party ran into our guest player who was a tabaxi woman amongst the prisoners. Together the party managed to sneak thru various traps relatively unharmed. Then things progressed very quickly as Lux discovered a baddie that they and another party member had a bad experience with, along with a new baddie. The guest player then super failed her stealth roll, and fell thru the doors in front of the baddies. The new one proceeded to flee but not before releasing a chimera for us to fight too. After nearly getting knocked out by the Chimera's breath weapon (legit 3 hp left), Lux managed to get a very lucky hit with a second level guiding bolt that rolled really high damage & KO'd the troublesome beast. The other baddie, seeing the chimera go down swore we'd meet again before fleeing. Afterwards the party found some neet loot and also 3 dragon eggs which was left in the hands of an influential guild of dm/npcs who were assisting us. While chilling for a bit, Lux walked a ways away before using their changeling ability to fix their slightly-charred hair from the Chimera incident. Unfortunately a beloved npc saw this but luckily said npc has like a 9 intelligence so it's ok lol. We ended the session teleporting to the next city where we'll pick up next time, can't wait for that cause group shopping trip~

Session #2.9:
So after nearly a year of not getting to play my group finally had the opprotunity to do a very mini session of some downtime/role play stuff in Elturel. After settling down and doing some shopping for a few things like rope & potions & also spare barrettes to replace the ones that got absolutely nuked after taking that chimera attack to the face, Lux went off to the local church archives to research a variety of things like dragons & the nature of the prophetic dreams he's been having. While most of the research didn't turn up much, Lux did roll a natural 20 (for a whopping 27 total) for finding info on his dreams. So he found out basically the whole main plot that the world is in danger thanks to good ol' Tiamat. After getting that big chunk of info it was time for the party to meet Kiran, a circle of stars druid who Jougi called into replace her since she wasn't comfortable with how violent the jobs had been getting. After a few teary good-byes, and reassurance that she would still see us in between quests, Kiran officially joined our rag tag group. Other than that Lux managed to get a private chat with Ghost, the npc who figured him out immediately session 1. After managing to get her word that she wouldn't spill the beans for now on what he was & getting some more info about her, Lux decided to share his dreams regarding mass chaos and destruction. He got some nice insight and a recommendation to talk to a friend in a city just past Baldur's Gate. wip


Session #3:
First proper session after a while, at the request of the familar npc Ghost, Lux & Co. set off on an 8 day journey with a another lovely lizardfolk npc in a very lavished carriage pulled by dire wolves out of all things. She nearly had a panic attack tho cause it was confirmed that Jackal just sleeps in the rafters of whatever inn room Lux is in, and she was very not expecting him to suddenly appear from the ceiling when he was mentioned. The journey was,,, something. DM had us a roll a d8 to see what event happened on what day and the events were an experience lol. The first event we ran into was coming up to a shoddy shack that had a sign that just said "MEAT!". After a few minutes of debating whether or not to just leave it was decided that Jackal should investigate, immediately realizing what a terrible idea that was Lux decided to go after Jackal who was already Yeehaw Cowboy walking up to the shack door. A Giant gnoll greeted them, and after Jackal rolled an 8 charisma the gnoll gave them a slab of "pork" and slammed the door in their face. Mystery meat turned out to in fact be gnoll meat much to the party's shock and dismay. This was one of many out of ordinary things that happned some others being: getting "pwned" by a prankster nymph, desperately trying to avoid a loud kobold advertising his kobold circus, running into some former cult members, meeting an eccentric drow man selling/giving away skeleton pets he necromanced (much to Lux & Faith's dismay Kieran insisted on keeping an undead parrot). Their journey came to a close as we entered the dm's homebrewed city & met the most vain warfordged I've ever seen. The dm then proceeded to irl pop quiz us about random dnd stuff via the npc (all things considered tho we did decent). We wrapped up this session with the npc agreeing to share needed info if we help them with a missing persons case they couldn't see to themself.

-Party proceeds to accidentally KO alhoon, who was supposed to escape, in 2 rounds

-OG Enemy convinced to be double agent to cult
