Biography
Name meaning: The White Rabbit is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland meant to be a contrast to Alice's character. The White Rabbit's perennial unpunctuality is a nod to Oxford time, the tradition at Oxford (and especially Christ Church, where Carroll taught) of having events begin five minutes past the scheduled hour.
Carroll is an Irish surname Anglicized from the Gaelic Mac Cearbhaill and Ó Cearbhaill (son or descendant of Cearbhall), and Cearbhall, meaning "fierce in battle." It is a personal name of uncertain origin, perhaps from cearbh ("hacking") and hence a byname for a butcher or nickname for a fierce warrior.
Carroll comes from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. He was recruited as a herald for the Queen's court and has made a reputation for himself as "the nervous dad friend" of the troupe. He was dubbed White Rabbit because he is rather twitchy like one.
