Bad tempered and foul mouthed, Konstanze is a stark contrast to her diplomatic counterpart, Humboldt.

In truth, Konstanze's brash nature shields her true cunning nature.

Chewed up by the plaguelands and spat out twice as vicious, any issue that can't be resolved by her counterpart's silver tongue is passed into Konstanze's merciless claws.

Being devoid of magic lends Konstanze more of an advantage than her opponents know. Their magic crumbles within inches of her body, and there is little honor in the way she fights, no vulnerability she wouldn't take advantage of if given the chance.

It is rumored that back in her pit fighting days, Konstanze once defeated an opponent by forcing herself down their throat and tearing it apart from the inside. Although multiple accounts of this story exist in the clan's gossip grapevine, they all agree that such brutality would not be above her.

Konstanze commands the respect of her warriors with the sheer force of her fighting prowess and her aggressive presence on the battlefield--she loves being in the thick of the fray, shouting orders to her warriors with such a volume dumbfounding for such a little dragon.

Outside of battle, Konstanze is known for being unusually honest for a shadow dragon. She sees no need to sugarcoat her words when she speaks, living by the philosophy that if anyone has a problem with the things she says, they're more than free to hunt her down and fight her over it.

Konstanze's egg was laid on godless land, and that fact alone should have sealed the her fate from the start.

But when her grief stricken mother refused to abandon her doomed egg, the mirror tore her way to the Obscured Forum to beg for the diety's blessing. Days later, the clan was shocked when the mirror returned, Konstanze in tow.

Despite the miracle, her joy was short lived, as she would soon discover the diety's pity only extended to the allowing the her child's birth. Despite her violet-eyed gaze, little Konstanze was void of any magic of her own.

Shunned by her birth clan, Konstanze developed violent tendencies at a young age, lashing out at the slightest wrong done to her. It was this, coupled with her short and explosive temper, eventually got her banished after one too many attacks on fellow clan members.

Left to fend for herself, Konstanze became a terror in her own right, resorting to attacking caravans in order to survive. Usually, the dragons inside were no match for her, and she would escape, relatively unscathed, with enough food or money to last a few days.

She made her first mistake when she attacked a showdragon's son, the only dragon she'd ever encountered whose magic she couldn't withstand. The Shadowbinder's blessing didn't give Konstanze any magic of her own, but allowed her to soak in the magic of others and send it back to the user amplified. His magic hit her like nothing else she'd ever experienced, effectively knocking her unconscious.

When she awoke, she was greeted to the face of her first ever failure, and instinctively attempted to strangle him.

Luckily, the leader of the caravan was more impressed with her reputation than he was concerned about the fact that she attempted to kill his son, and so he invited her into his caravan--as one of his pit fighters.

Faes rarely competed in the underground fighting rings. Those that did never lasted very long at all, but Konstanze took the sport by storm, taking down dragons several times her size and becoming one of the most feared fighters in the circuit. Her opponents staggered out of the rings with their skin torn to shreds by her lightning fast claws and sharp, sharp teeth.

They called her the Butcherbird.
