The Chainbreaker - A deity believing in the pursuit of justice and atonement above all else. Their children, the Goetia-born, follow their teachings and desires even while serving a summoner. Though harsh and brutal in their punishments for sinners, Chainbreaker is not an evil deity--they are divine retribution in its finest form and only have ill intentions for the guilty.
"It is our time now, dearest children. Carry out my judgement unto the world beyond."
Before the Chainbreaker, there was no light.
Our realm was enveloped in darkness and chaos.
It could not support life. It was barren.
Among the swirling chaos, the churning of darkness…
There was a light. A thought, independent of the eldritch chaos.
That fraction of darkness escaped the quivering mass it was once part of.
It was the Chainbreaker.
Breaking free from the bonds of darkness, the Chainbreaker changed everything.
They brought light to our world. They brought life to our world.
They brought hope to a desolate realm.
Their freedom was marked by the broken shackles on their body.
The malevolent force that once ruled our world was banished.
Pushed to the outer edges, the livid shadow desperately fought to reclaim its land.
But the Chainbreaker did not allow that to happen.
Fighting back with light and flame, the brave deity fought alone to defend their world.
As the land thrived under their watch, the Chainbreaker created entities to populate the land.
They created flora, fauna, and us - the Goetia-born.
After they’d made their many beautiful creations…
Their power began to wane.
The darkness reclaimed more of our land.
Our light was fading.
It was then that the Chainbreaker called upon their children.
They could no longer fight alone, nor could they be on the front lines.
And thus, they needed us.
While Chainbreaker maintains the light…
We defend the borders.
