Mystic

Rashi and Mystic are middle-aged females who serve as the workaday mages of Hearthstone Clan. They excavate areas with magic that the fieldworkers can't safely get to, or where they couldn't turn over the earth without harming the artifacts within it. They also keep pests away from the gardens, and make sure the caves where the Clan lives are dry, climate-controlled, and always have enough rooms of the right shape for the Clan's needs. Finally, they serve as priestesses, scripting and running the Clan's religious ceremonies dedicated to the Lightweaver.

The two of them are very much alike in temperament. They are cheerful, active, and like to be busy... which is useful, since they have a great deal of work to do in an archaeological research clan!! They have a streak of mischief in them, but it is tempered by a strong feeling of responsibility. They'll never do anything really damaging, but their practical jokes are notorious, and they do like to confuse another dragon utterly with their deadpan (and deadly) sarcasm, and then go off laughing like loons together.

They're not lovers... Rashi prefers to mate with males and Mystic is asexual. But they are life partners for all other purposes. They share a room in the lair, except when Rashi is on a nest; and everyone knows that if you annoy either of them, you can expect to have to deal with both. It's a daunting prospect with these two, who will tell you with an evil grin that old age and treachery can defeat youth and inexperience every time.
