Biography

Dragons Off To See The World

Uh-oh, looks like this spooky ghosthunter wandered a little too far from her home lair (#559581, MoonlilyluvsCas), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Whisper has never been normal. She has never fit in. Strange and always interested in the peculiar and the bizarre, she found she sometimes felt more comfortable in the graveyards than with living things. She enjoyed hearing all sorts of ghost stories and found comfort in the tales of the afterlife and the great beyond rather than being frightened by them like most.

This strange interest made it especially difficult for her in the lair she was born in, which was a beautiful garden full of living things, bright and vibrant with lots of colors. Whisper didn't much like color. She found black to be of interest, reminiscent of the void or of darkness. Perhaps those things were scary, but she liked scary things. They comforted her, that something of great interest was out there, beyond nature, beyond the grave.

Her family in the Eternal Haven didn't mind her interests, nor did they tease her for them. She never felt unwelcome there, it was just that she didn't quite feel she belonged. Too much life. Too much color. Too much light. It hurt her eyes. Besides, it wasn't called the Eternal Haven for no reason, there wasn't much dying happening in these parts, and little to no ghost stories to speak of. And so, Whisper decided in the dead of night, her favorite time to be awake, that she would depart from her home, seeking out ghosts and tales of them, and any other strange people that might come her way.

Whisper's Tales of the Dead:

Clan Kako
Traveling from the Viridian Labyrinth, Whisper ended up heading towards the Starfall Isles purely by chance. Landing on the Crystalspine mountain range, a bush practically came to life before her eyes. The decorated Skydancer gave a well-meaning chuckle.
"I didn't mean to startle you," she apologized. "I'm Rivalen, and you seem to be a traveler?" Her eyes seemed to glint from under the wooden mask she was wearing, and Whisper was at a loss for words, so she simply nodded as a reply.
"In that case, welcome to the Crystalspine Reaches," she said, beckoning for the younger to follow after her. "We're a small clan, so please excuse if it's a little cramped."

They walked for a bit, before Rivalen lead Whisper to a few openings into the mountains. A sudden 'boom' and a trail of smoke flowed out of one of the tunnels, the smoke giving way to a Spiral and Pearlcatcher leaving and coughing a bit. Rivalen rolled her eyes and went over to them. Whisper followed behind her, curious as to what was happening.
"What were you two doing?" Rivalen asked, looking down at the two younger dragons. One gave a beaming smile, while the other was trying to get the soot off her scales.
"Zuu decided to mess with my stew again," the Spiral pointed out.
"I did not, Ellis!" The Pearlcatcher retorted, making a face. Rivalen shook her head.
"I hope you didn't use anything we need to feed everyone, Zuu," she said, staring down at the Pearlcatcher. Whisper looked to see if she could see the Pearlcatcher's pearl but didn't see it anywhere.
"I didn't, Riva," she said. "I went out and got everything I needed and wanted to use myself."

Several days of staying with the clan, one of their clan members left to look for another who had stopped checking in a while ago, and a day after that, a Tundra by the name of Banane took up residency. Whisper didn't know what to think of the yellow fluff monster until he started weaving stories of his travels. He'd been traveling for a long while now, and everything he had to say carried a lot of weight to the new traveler.

When he left, several others came and went, but Whisper lost track of those who came through. Something, or rather someone, had caught her eye. A green and gemmed Imperial by the name of Suzaku was always on his perch to watch the clan from above.
Talking to him, Whisper learned that tragedy always caught with those who avoided it but was a welcome calm to those that were able to find comfort in change.

After a while, the pair had a nest with only one egg. Whisper left shortly after, feeling the pull of wanting to explore and learn more, but at the same time, not wanting to leave her new son. Suzaku assured her that she could leave if she wished and she could always come and visit one more to see her son, Sasayaku. Whisper left the same day Sasa hatched, with another traveler by the name of Living.
Though, before she could leave, Suzaku gifted her with something to remember them all by, which she greatly appreciated.

The Fount of Travelers

Having a hatchling made Whisper miss home. She returned to The Fount of Travelers, spending time contemplating her existence. She spent hours in meditation, but alas, just like before, felt that the beautiful gardens here were too bright and cheery for her liking, so she set out again to see what she could discover.
Starflower Grove

The next clan Whisper arrived in was a small, starlit grove. The dragons here were
