Hunter is a curious dragon and has been all his life. He was always eager to learn new things, visit new places and explore new territory. As a young dragon, satiating the need for new knowledge was easy. The world around him seemed bigger then, exploring and learning took longer, going through the history of his own clan alone took him a few years.

As he aged, the world around him closed in, became smaller and all he knew was the clan he lived in. He knew it too well, he had read through almost every book, even ones he didn't find too interesting, heard every elders' story over and over again, enough to know them almost word for word, he learned every nook and cranny of the clans territory. Nothing was new any more, nothing interesting and everything too familiar.

He ended up yearning for more, heard the call of the world of Sornieth to explore and see. He wanted to explore other flights and their territory, to learn more about their culture, habits and way of life. When traveling finally came up as an option he tried planning everything at first, he tried to plan beforehand which lands he would visit and in which order, how long he would stay in each place and how many clans he would visit. A month later however he had enough of planning, he didn't want to stay in one place any longer. Overnight he packed the mere essentials, some food and a couple of maps, by the time morning came he was gone, flying the skies, happy to see where the wind would take him.

He finally felt excitement after years, ready to learn again.

Uh-oh, looks like this Genteel Derg wandered a little too far from his home lair
(#37748 JannelleSaDiablo), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

he has apparel. please do not send him without them: Bone Antlers, enchanted stag necklace and a pronghorn hunter familiar.

Hunter's first venture outside of home went relatively well. He found himself in the clan of Crow Callers - a bustling, diverse clan on the border of the Scarred Wasteland and Tangled Wood.

He quickly found that it was easy to get along with most of the dragons there, whether they were permanent residents or simply stopping by. He enjoyed listening to their stories - Hunter hoped he'd have more stories to tell as he travelled.

One of Hunter's best friends during his first journey was a Snapper named Antigua.

After staying for a few days, Hunter decided it would be a good idea for him to start heading on some more adventures.

Hunter's travels took him all the way to the light domain, flying in the clear skies with the sun pleasantly heating his feathers. A gold building caught his eye, surrounded by an array of smaller houses. The town looked lovely from afar, so he made his next stop there.

His stay was rather long, but the rich culture and history of the place pulled him in.
Amongst the many things he had learned his favourite bit of new information was about the golden building. Once a humble chapel it now stood large and luxurious, made of gold. It had been turned into a large castle looking structure, an unfortunate reason to it, for it was made not much before the Banescale and Gaoler war struck. Its intention was to house Banescale in an event they were lost, a precaution that came to fruition.

Hunter spent days in there, wandering the long halls without any idea of time. He went through the gallery, through the library that was still being restored from the war, he checked the long abandoned but beautiful throne room, the many "museums" that held various artefacts, the gardens that grew plants no longer seen in the war and so many others. It was an enriching experience, often accompanied by Ophanim, the Founder of the town - Lume.

The banescale told Hunter many stories, the dragon millennia years of age could answer many questions regarding the past.
Ophanim however wasn't the only one with tales to tell.
When Hunter thought his hunger for knowledge was satiated he found himself talking to other residents, many with adventures of their own and experiences under their belts that were alien to Hunter.
What was supposed to be a short stay ended up stretching beyond expectations as Hunter enjoyed every bit of new knowledge he got. He even learned how to make notebooks and made one of his own with the help of the local artist, he used it to write down anything he found interesting.
With his mew notebook and even new found artistic ability he flew off to new adventures.

Hunter found himself quite welcome among the dragons of Clan Arkar. He was given a magical amulet that granted him antlers, and befriended a local pronghorn. He lost track of time hunting in the thick forest surrounding the clan, and may have stayed there forever if he hadn't received a message summoning him home. The dragons of Clan Arkar wished him well, and the pronghorn chose to accompany him. they told him he was welcome back in the future if his path ever took him that way again.

Hunter was a bit nervous about returning to the lair of his birth. He'd been gone for so long he wasn't sure what might have changed. Still, he was exited to see his family again, so he took to the wing with a glad heart.

After being called home by the clan leader, Hunter was given a temporary mate named Mariposa. The hope was that a living flower -or a lineage that could lead to one- would come of the three eggs laid. Hunter felt only duty toward this task and vowed to renew his travels as soon as the clutch hatched. And hatch it did. One hatchling was claimed by Windsinger while the other two were chosen to continue this duty to the clan. Hunter was free to travel to his hearts content. But was told he may be summoned home again in the future.
