Rasa was brought to Flintfire as a hatchling during one of the Skydancer's travels across Sornieth. The tiny Veilspun, try as anyone might, will not leave Flintfire's side and will accompany him everywhere, whether nestled between his wings, hidden in his apparel, or even on the back of Flintfire's Strawberry Noggle, Puree. Flintfire, although rather uncomfortable about it, decides to leave the hatchling scrambling all over him anyway, treating the Veilspun like a parent would to a child.

Lodestar finds Rasa adorable, and sometimes volunteers to babysit him while Flintfire flies off on dangerous missions, although most of the time Rasa still ends up finding a way to stow away with the departing Skydancer. He doesn't get too far from the lair, however, before he is brought back with loud squeals and Flintfire fussing over him.

Although Flintfire feels that Rasa is a bit of a hindrance rather than a help, he allows the Veilspun to do what he likes anyway, and secretly enjoys his company. The small Lightning dragon feels like a family member to him, and he does his best to treat him like how others in his clan - especially Lodestar - would with their own hatchlings.
