However did mysterious Starfreeze make her way from her Arcane clan to an Ice clan? As a hatchling, she was curious of the floating white isles drifting toward the edge of Arcane territory, and despite her parents' many warnings, curiosity finally got the best of her and she wandered off in that direction. If it weren't for a mighty Ice clan living at the edge of the Floes, Starfreeze would have drowned before she made it to adulthood.

Because Softpatch's clan had rescued her, Starfreeze felt she had to stay in the clan. She owed her life to them, and decided to live among them, at least for a while. But after a month with her new clan, she began to wonder about her parents, and if they were still searching for her, worried sick that she might never return. Starfreeze decided to return to the Starfall Isles to try to search for her parents, but when she reached her birth clan's relative location, her parents were gone.

There was a new clan in the place of the old clan, and she asked them of the clan before them that lived here. Their leader just shrugged and told her they had no idea where they went, if they were ever here. Heartbroken, Starfreeze headed back home, devastated that she never got to apologize to her parents or even so much as see a glance of them or her old clan. Her grief caused her to slip into the shadows and become removed from the daily activities of her new clan, and she became more reserved, keeping to herself rather than socializing with everyone else.

When Salix joined the clan, she could tell he fell for her immediately, but she didn't feel the same. He reminded her all too clearly of her parents, who she never got to see ever since she wandered from her birth clan as a hatchling. But as she befriended him, it was his dorky personality that eventually won her heart over. She accepted his request to be his mate with concealed pleasure.

Was it really for the best that Starfreeze never knew what happened to her parents, or that someone should have told her that they were both exalted...?

Chosen Familiar: Willowmane Deerling "Silkwing" Strange for a Veilspun dragon to have chosen a Willowmane Deerling as their forever companion, isn't it? Despite other Veilspuns hunting down these deerlings for food, Starfreeze has inexplicably chosen this particular one to be her companion. Even Salix doesn't know why she's chosen Silkwing - the name Starfreeze gave it - but no one's complaining, because the deerling isn't going to end up becoming anyone's lunch.
