Ice cold eyes leer out from underneath a pile of dark feathers and coarse hairs and tangled weeds, the only indication that the creature beneath these trappings still has a soul. Beneath her garments cool metal gleams, flashes of the cybernetics that continue to grant her life. Her other physical traits are far more mercurial, constantly shifting beneath the sickening shimmer of her scales, able to be changed at will. She is, in a word, frightening.

To uncover her past would be to uncover something more sickening still. She banded together with others of her kind, carefully crafted a cult of the beauty of their pearls, and studied them with the meticulousness expected of any researcher. But when their behavior became unpredictable she left them all to burn. Felt nothing for it. There is a rumor that drifts on the wind, that she continued to take notes through the sound of their screams, and as far as rumors go, it is a well-founded one. Now, she continues with the craft of research under Kirino’s unwatchful eye, indebted to him in some way for the hardened steel he installed in her frame. When he draws too near she snaps that she can care for them herself. But she knows just as well as he does; old dragons do not live forever. So in her spare time, she turns to a more sinister plan.
