Kipyegon, Cricket Curator
Kip traveled with the Emerald Skies Caravan for a while. It was good business; most of her customers were merchants in the caravan itself. Many of them owned small reptiles as pets - and those pets required insects for nourishment. And since her insects were top quality, they were quite happy to buy from her.
While with them, Kip became good friends with the botanist Ellabe. They'd talk for hours about the local insect and flora populations. Ellabe even gave Kip a few packets of specially-modified nourishment seeds to feed to her crickets.
However, Kip eventually felt that she had maximized her time with the caravan; it was time to move on and expand her horizons.
The residents of the Sunbeam Lanternhouse had no need of her living wares, due to Wren's vast and indiscriminate hoard of insects - which included quite a sub-collection of crickets, some of which Kip had never seen before. She was desperate to get some for her cohort, but the only thing that Wren was interested in was the one thing that she could not trade - namely, her breeding crickets.
She tried to persuade Wren to accept treasure in exchange for xyr crickets, then gems. When she tried to negotiate a trade of alchemy components, Wren terminated their interaction with a blast of elemental magic that would have resulted in serious injury to her person if she had not also been a Wind dragon.
However, even with her reduced susceptibility to Wind magic, Kipyegon needed to take a little time to recover... and nurse her wounded pride after such a spectacular failure. She retreated to her room and consoled herself with one of her romance novels. There she was discretely approached by Natsumi.
The coleopterist had heard about her woes, and she had no objection to accepting treasure for a measure of her collection of beetles, which Kip could then trade to Wren. Grateful for the solution, Kip accepted, and somehow they got to chit chatting. Kip admitted to her fancies about a Prince Charming - and Natsumi offered to set her up on a blind date.
Still needing some recovery time - and a neutral way to approach Wren once more - Kip decided Why not? She ended up having two hatchlings, but it was more of a fling than a true relationship, and she decided that (at least for now) she valued her cricket trade over real-life romance. She still had her books, after all.
She made her trade to Wren with Natsumi's assistance and took her leave.
One way or another, Kip found her way to Takasa clan, a big group of dragons living in an even bigger group of mutated, hollowed out cacti! How peculiar! Before she could properly react to the over-sized flora, several of her crickets hopped ahead and into the town, and she quickly hopped after them.
As she was scrambling to gather her bugs, a cream and blush colored Veilspun greeted her at the threshold, introducing herself as Akae, the clan's volunteer tour guide. Her job is to make sure travelers are well taken care of, as Takasa has travelers out in the world as well, and as the clan's Kuraiji has stated, "it's critical to create a welcoming environment, as we would want for our own travelers". Akae led Kip around the territory, pointing out the Exalt archives and the giant floating pavilion above their succulent shelter. At the end of the tour, Akae dropped Kip off at the marketplace and handed her a slip of paper; it was a supply voucher for traveling dragons to redeem at the general stall to stock back up on supplies for the road.
After redeeming the voucher, Kip stayed the night in the inn, which the innkeepers didn't entirely appreciate considering her posse of crickets, and in the early morning following, Kip promptly left the territory, carried by the rushing sand filled wind.
While at Legacy Harbor Kip met a dragon who's trying to complete the 100 hatchling challenge. She likes a challenge, so she decided to help Kendera. They had three hatchlings who all went into service for the Tidelord. Kip spent a lot of her time meeting new friends and exploring Legacy Harbor. Before she knew it, Kip was there longer than she had meant to be. After some thinking, Kip decided it was time to move on.
Kip took some much-needed rest at the Tipsy Travelers Inn. She was able to unwind and appreciate the diverse culture in the local town, Andermorax. After a few months of unwinding, they were ready to hop along on their next adventure.
So kipyefon did not really know where she was going after that but it didnt really matter because a powerful GUST blew her right into the dirt. But the dirt was actually really green goop and when she looked up she was on the plaguelands but specifically the part of it that is non lore compliant and ugly. Luckily there was already someone there guzzling the green goop out of his gas mask and it was ME!!!! Big boy JENKINS helped kipyegon out of the goop and was a little miffed like WTH yoir in my goop...but then kipyegon had crickets in her wings and big boy JENKINS said AAAAAHHHH!!! And kipyegon was like oh sorry those are my crickets....my beautiful baby crickets but what she didnt know was rhat she had landed in bug country, bugs were everyones favorite animals here because we are a hivemind. So big boy JENKINS called all his clones and daughters to come see the crickets and kipyegon let everyone pet a cricket, it was like a giant cricket party and everyone had so much fun even the crickets.
When the party was over kipyegon thanked everyone for being so nice to the crickets and everyone was so sad and crying that kipyegon had to go. The leader of the island (me) said that kipyegon can come abck any time and eat any of our delicious goops whenever she wants so if you dont want her and the home lair is dead you should send her to me
After setting off from JENKINSland, Kip headed south, and once again found herself in Wind terriory. Once she got to the plains, she landed, curious to see what she could find. She didn't expect anything rare, but it wouldn't hurt to check, right?
She ended up spending the entire day under the bright spring sun, frolicking through the grass, collecting crickets in her wings. By the time she snapped out of it the twilight was setting in. Kip could certainly fend for herself for a day or two, but she would still prefer to find some civilization, especially having been almost deified not that long ago. So, she searched for other dragons and eventually stumbled upon a small nameless town.
At the entrance she was greeted by a sentry who mumbled something about it being "stinky dragon season". Kip asked her for directions and, after setting off to the local inn, discreetly sniffed herself. Did she really smell that bad?
As it turned out, local dragons loved to eat insects as well, so despite her quirks and the stench of the Quarantine Zone still emanating from her feathers, Kip became quite popular. She made bank selling some of her wares and even got to train a professional insect catcher for the clan!

Kipyegon loves little more than her cohort of crickets, whom she breeds and sells to interested collectors all across Sornieth. With so many types only accessible through selective breeding, she has a lot of work on her claws meeting the demands of her most regular clients - but none of them ever leave disappointed after taking a look through her living wares. Her trade is niche, but that isn't the only reason she dominates it: it's hard to beat a dragon who trellises her wings with food dust. And at the end of the day, she's not exactly rolling in treasure, so most dragons aren't particularly interested in challenging her position. In her down time, which is pretty much never (cricket care is a lot more demanding than it sounds!), she likes to read lurid romance novels. Though she can't imagine many Prince Charmings will take kindly to her creepy-crawly addiction, Kip won't kick dreams of romance to the curb just yet.
