Caribbean sparkles float around Wren, drawn as a worm-on-a-string-like creature with wings.

Under the tutelage of Benevolence, The Twins mastered each progressive venue of the Coliseum. They were approaching their full strength, but there were still a few tests left... the first being the Mire.

Their first battle was unusual.

Not in its execution - no, The Twins were already quite comfortable in battle - but in its aftermath. They had soundly beaten a pair of Psywurms and their accompanying Salve Kamaitachi; investigating the loot left behind, they discovered… an Unhatched Wind Egg.

With a stolen egg found, The Twins put their training on hold.

They returned home to seek Keahi’s advice. Which consisted of the simple “Keep it warm and sheltered”.

Neither of The Twins were particularly thrilled: they were not suited for the role of parenthood. But they had asked for advice – not a request for Keahi to care for the egg. So they did their best. (Keahi, gentle heart, assisted.)

Their efforts resulted in a drab-colored Fae hatchling.

Keahi took over the care and feeding of the little one: The Twins returned to their training. Though every night upon their return, they poked their heads into the nursery to check on the little one and bring her the choicest of insects from their forays.

She was always happy to see them. Or maybe the food. It was hard to tell.

She grew up, strong and healthy. Under Keahi's watchful eye, she began to experiment with expressing herself so that she could be better understood by the clan. Her first attempt was perhaps not quite tactful, with her emphatic statement against female pronouns.

But The Twins in particular were willing to coach xyr in modulating xyr tone and volume. (After a few frustrating lessons, Wren abandoned the effort.) And though The Twins invited xyr to join them in the Coliseum - and xe did follow them, once, curiously - Wren was more interested in insects.

Perhaps The Twins' doting had shaped xyr inclinations towards the gourmet.

Regardless, xe collected insects in large quantities, xyr hoard growing as xe became more indiscriminate in xyr preferences. (Xe still ate only the best of what xe caught, storing the rest.)

When Zelophehad requested that xe become the clan's insect catcher it was more a formality than anything else.
