Argen is passionate for fishing. He urges that everyone try it at least once in their life, or twice, or maybe a few times. He is deeply devoted to the Tidelord despite being in a shadow clan. Even though he was swept away from his old clan by the turbulent seas, he's still not afraid to sail.

Argen often tells younglings who join him on fishing expeditions stories from his youngling days. Some stories may be more exaggerated than others, but they are still stories!

Beginnings of an Admiral

The waves gently rocked the home-ship of a young Admiral and his wealthy family. The Tidelord had been kind and blessed the fishing village with plentiful fish harvests but their luck would soon run out.

One fateful day as Argen the Admiral was fishing along Driftwood Drag a large wave hit the ship and was being followed by more of them. He panicked, unsure of what to do in a situation like this.

"Gather the ships together, we must hold against the storm."

He gathered in front of his family and his clan. He needed to make an announcement to calm the storm brewing within the clan but he couldn't find words to say. Just as he opened his beak, a tall shadow crept from behind him. He turned to face the largest wave he had ever seen.

The wave ate and swallowed him into its depths, he scrambled to the surface but couldn't find it. He heard vague shrieking around him and tried to follow it but he couldn't. He struggled for what felt like forever, shadow closed in on him, pulling him into unconsciousness.
When he awoke, he was being carried on the back of a large spirit. The spirit was spotted green and had huge, carnivorous teeth. He was too weak to fight and was unsure if the large Kraken saved him for a meal.

In the distance, he saw a towering ship with threatening crossbone flags. The Kraken was taking him to that ship.

A tall ridgeback stood along the deck, he stood staring at him with looking-glass. He spoke to a thin mirror beside him, who threw a rope ladder down the side of the ship.

The beast lowered its head as it approached the ladder, allowing Argen to climb off its back to safety.
