Favorite flower- rose Mate- none Friends- Wispwillow Personality- quiet and shy Likes- being out in nature, bird watching, spending time alone Dislikes- loud noises, cities, being assertive To other dragons, Serenity is just a dragon with a green thumb. Only she and her familiar Primrose know her true abilities. Serenity is a dragon capable of leafspeak*, a rare trait that allows dragons the ability to communicate with plants and grow them at will, but a trait she wants to keep hidden, in fear of her old clan finding her from it. After being deemed unfit to live, Serenity narrowly escaped death by her own clan by means unknown. Finding herself in Shadow territory, she quickly found a clan to join and offer her services to. In the peace and quiet of her garden, Serenity is able to process the trauma she endured in her own clan. All her life, she was told she was not worthy to live, and after a certain period of time, she would be Sent. All her life, she worried if she was doing enough to please the Ones Apart so that she could be reincarnated as someone who was auspicious in her next life. When the day came for her Sending, there was a flash of bright light and suddenly she woke up in a moonlit grove. Wispwillow was the one who found her and brought her back to her clan. She's also the one who's helped Serenity process her trauma the most. She's helped Serenity learn that every dragon has their own worth, regardless of what her own clan thought of them. Most importantly, she's helped Serenity cultivate her leafspeak skills, a talent she never would have known she had if she hadn't left her clan. *Leafspeak is a reference to the Wings of Fire book series. Dragons who have Leafspeak are capable of understanding plant thoughts and can grow plants to maturity before your eyes. ________________________________________ |

And now she was standing on the chopping block ready to be Sent. She was destined for this from the moment Orchid the clan shaman deemed her unworthy. Unlike other hatchlings, Orchid saw no promise in her: no reason to keep her or send her away. So instead, Serenity was to serve the Ones Apart til her fifth hatching day, when she would be Sent. Hopefully, she did enough to honor them in this lifetime that she would become auspicious in the next. Serenity could feel sweat dripping down her scales and into her ceremonial garb. She, along with each of the dragons on the pillars next to her were dressed in white robes, a symbol of their holiness but also their simplicity. Serenity knew why she was there. She was a firm believer of the Exultant Order and what they taught her. She knew she was not fit to serve them any longer, and thus had to be Sent. So why did she feel so scared? Serenity couldn't move. Her heart was pounding in her chest. In an attempt to find peace, she thought back on all that she had done in her time serving her clan. ________________________________________ |
