Freesia was born deaf-mute, and although there were options to fix the innate problem, her parents refused. She was perfect as is. Freesia agreed. She preferred the quiet and solitude her condition brought, and found it bothersome to get others to interact with her. It's why she loved the stars. There was no sound in space, and they spoke a language she didn't need to hear.

She graduated with a degree in astrometrics, It's a quiet field in which she can chart stars. Alone.

Unfortunately, on The Collider, one is never really alone. Parsi stops into the Stellar Cartography lab frequently enough. Dral gets on her last nerve. Qi has conversations with her that are more one-sided than anything. She hates it. All of it. But what bothers her most is that when she does have something important to say, no one, save Parsi, bothers to listen. It's like the other woman is the only one who took Sornieth Standard Sign Language (even though it's a requirement for working in the S.S.A.). Freesia remains bitter about it, and rightfully so.
