Origins: The Alchemist's Apprentice Elsevier was born in Arcadia, a clan that migrated from Arcane to Wind and retained close connections with magic. The firstborn child of Tisiphone and Rhianda, Elsevier was sent to The Cathedral of Eyes as an arranged exchange with his cousin Saffron to study under the guidance of his aunt, Sahiba. He was meant to learn the art of mage craft, but he liked to wander and stumbled across a golden door. Ultimately, he became an apprentice to the alchemist, Frankenstein. He could easily resist the control of the demon Cipher when the creature took an interest in him, but he joined the Royal Council willingly. When the demon's magic entwined with his own, his scaled turned gold mottled with the shifting blackness of the Shade. I cannot force you to join me. The demon admitted, his eyes gleaming with a golden light. But perhaps. . . I can make it worth your while.
