 Thorn is about as sociable as the melon marzals he and his partner, Chloris, raise on their tiny farm in the Windswept Plateau. That is to say, he is more likely to hiss and growl at any unwanted visitors before scuttling off to bury himself in the dirt. He wasn't trained for a quiet life, and this little corner of the world Chloris found for them provides little else. The farming he likes, however. It keeps him busy, gives him something to do with his hands. It soothes that paranoid creature that lurks in the back of his mind, screaming to watch out for danger, for any threat to him or Chloris or the life they've worked hard to build.

Chloris is happy here, he knows. He can see it in the way she doesn't immediately tense at every strange noise anymore, and in how quickly she falls into sleep after settling into their nest for the night. Even if this was only meant to be temporary, he knows that she wants to stay. So stay they will. Thorn will keep tending to the farm, he will keep grumbling through small talk and hiding when neighbors knock on their door. He'll stay, so Chloris will too.
