Ironically, as the days lengthen, Sunny sleeps more and more, entering deep hibernation by the Solstice. Otto has the challenge of finding her a safe place to hole away during the summer while he travels, returning for her at the Autumnal Equinox, when she re-emerges, ready to travel and play again. It's always a balancing act finding somewhere hidden...that he can find again!

This, along with a youthful restlessness, led to his departure from Sunbeam Grotto (with his parents' blessing) to explore the world. His sojourn took him as far east as dragonkind had yet migrated, the Starfall Isles. There, he found scope for his inborn talent of cloud-painting: the Crystalspine Reaches were the perfect backdrop for the soft pink palette he preferred. Morning and evening, he flew among the clouds, blending colors in the lightening dawn and deepening dusk. But eventually, that restlessness came on him again. In each sky he painted, whatever the hour, he felt a sameness. The peaks were still beautiful, but working day in and day out with his ideal palette had lost its challenge. He flew circles around the crystals, indecision clouding his sight. As a faltering ray of sun pierced the heavy clouds of sunset, he made up his mind. |

Octavius has a flair for the dramatic, taking after the way his mother weaves beautiful arrangements of clouds and light. During his travels, he becomes enamored by the way the light shines off the Crystalspine Reaches.
Many dragons that know him know how he enjoys spending his days lining cloud arrangements with pink hues, especially around the Arcane realm.
Some of his other hobbies include playing stringed instruments, and diving deep into the water near the Arcane realms.
