Biography
“With the years his devotion to ancient things increased; so that history, genealogy, and the study of colonial architecture, furniture, and craftsmanship at length crowded everything else from his sphere of interests.”

ANTIQUARIANS
Dragons who stumble across the supernatural come from all walks of life: artists, mathematicians, astronomers, and philosophers. However, the most notorious investigators are usually antiquarians, a term to describe history enthusiasts and antique collectors. These dragons are exceptionally curious and usually uncover records best left untouched. These dragons come from or are attracted to the Light flight, since it is closely aligned with scholarly pursuit and relic collection. Their appearance is usually neutral or muted, but their minds are always very bright. They often resemble the dusty books they devour in their free time. This dragon is the child of Past and Antiquity, the pair who began the investigation of eldritch mysteries. He is very interested in his parents' undertakings, which range from finding the location of R'lyeh to seeking information on the Elder Gods themselves. He is learning how to read some of the languages that existed before the Third Age. Dear Akeley,I hope this letter finds you well. Or finds you at all, in fact. My friend, your last message worried me, and I fear our correspondence is being monitored by.. forces unknown. It is no longer wise to send items in the mail, for I suspect they will be tampered with by those who do not wish us to combine our knowledge, especially after that business with the missing black stone. I have hidden the recording from your first letter, though the blasphemous sounds that uttered from it will forever be in my mind. How did you get close enough to the things to capture those noises? My god, it is more than I can bear. What horrors lurk in the hills surrounding your farm? Why do they prowl at night? Forgive me, but those voices still haunt me. I hope you are safe, and the dogs are providing you with adequate protection.
I write to inform you that I have settled into a clan who may be able to shed some light on our strange investigation. The clan (I will omit their name) is located in the cliffs of the Shifting Expanse, and they have a resident who claims he has the power to bring forth cyclopean beings from his novels, for he is an author by trade. He is a strange fellow by the name of Lovecraft, and though his boast may sound outlandish, I can assure you Akeley, that it is no joke. This dragon can call up any of his grotesque creations, though he lacks the skill to banish them if they prove too strong. After many long discussions with Lovecraft it seems that this gift is more of a curse, and he himself joined the clan to seek help in controlling it, and to aid in the hunt of the monsters that he unwittingly unleashed.
This matter is why I have offered my own assistance. As you well know, I was formerly a professor of folklore at Miskatonic and am well versed in the bizarre and unusual. Many of Lovecraft's stories were inspired by myths and legends, and my expertise may help the clan in their efforts to subdue the creatures that have been freed. Our own investigation, Akeley, may also be directly involved with Lovecraft, and while I still need to do more research I suspect that the hill creatures that stalk your lands may be from one of his ghastly tales. If this is true then we should be able to stop them once Lovecraft has mastered his literary magic and is able to recall the beasts back into their book where they belong.
Until then my friend, I urge you to stay safe, and do not take any unnecessary risks. Write me back as soon as you can, though if I do not hear from you within a week then I shall visit, as I will not risk the chance of your needing aid while unable to put pen to paper. Perhaps I should bring you back with me, though I know how resistant you are to the idea of leaving your ancestral home to those lurking things, but do think on it anyway. As I have said previously - do not send physical evidence in the mail, we cannot risk espionage, not after the loss of the black stone. We must proceed with utmost caution if we are to successfully see this ordeal through.
All the best,
Wilmarth
